Publisher's summary

Marco Rubio's parents came to the United States in 1956. The country they found was truly a land of opportunity, where hardworking people with grade school educations could afford a home, a car, and college for their kids. A country where maids and bartenders could raise doctors, lawyers, small-business owners, and maybe even a US senator. That was the American Dream - our country's central promise to its people: If you work hard and play by the rules, you'll find tremendous opportunities and an even better life for your children.

Rubio wrote this audiobook because we stand at a critical juncture. What kind of country are we going to be? Will we surrender to Obamacare and other laws that crush innovation and entrepreneurship? Will we accept a powerful nanny state and the erosion of family values? Will we allow politics to kill the American Dream? Or will we rise to the challenge - and take back our legacy as the only nation on earth that offers unrestricted opportunity to all?

In this book, you'll meet an over-regulated small-businessman, a struggling single mother, an out-of-work and in-debt college graduate, and others who want nothing more than their own shot at the American Dream. Their stories are our stories; their challenges are our challenges. Of course, no book or politician can single-handedly restore the American Dream. But a movement, working to promote the values and can-do spirit that made our country exceptional, can turn everything around.

A very thought provoking look at America!

As Marco Rubio runs for president this is a very in-depth look at his hopes and intentions of change for America. He sees the need for reform in programs that are out dated. I love his ideas for tax, education, and welfare reform. Most of all I love his dream of empowerment of every American to achieve their own 'american dream' through merit, not through government hand outs and the redistributuion of wealth . I also admire his veiw that the family is central in the success of our children, and that the government cannot replace the family through programs. I especially enjoyed the reasoning and explainations of government taxations, budgeting, crony capitalism, and social security reform. So many people only focus on which ever social issue or crisis is in the main stream media at a specific time, but Marco Rubio continues to talk about true issues that will benefit the American people, and he would make a strong President.

Everyone Look and Listen

Marco Rubio has the best solutions to our countries biggest concerns. I am proud to be an American citizen who lives in the best place for freedom and opportunity. I really wish that people in this country would study the lives of politicians and pray for light and truth so we could unite as people under one constitution. Why do people believe candidates that show bad character and ignore the reality that exists in our country and that is we are in trouble and the only way to recover from the devastation President Obama has created, is to elect Marco Rubio as the next President of the United States and listen to his real life solutions and his message of unity.
I am afraid that most people do not see how much we will suffer from electing a President that shows lack of compassion for all people.

Comprehensive and compelling path for renewal.

Must listen for the politically aware thinking person. This man should be taken seriously in the 2016 Presidential election.

By the end I didn’t trust him as much

I wanted to like him. I did. I listened to the beer during the primary campaign season trying to learn more about him. But I’m left feeling like I learned more but in a way that left me feeling he wasn’t being completely honest with me on the issues. He argues well in some area but then when it comes to the issue of immigration he throws out his established logic and just tells chains of sob stories. We all have immigrant ancestors in our past. Life was tougher and yes they had to make sacrifices. You’re not THAT unique. Swap out Castro with hitler and you have the makings of many Americans family struggles in the past.

His use of attempting to appeal to the readers emotions and not logic created a feeling of possible manipulation. And considering he was a candidate for president at the time one can’t help wondering what game was being played.
