Publisher's Summary

In Helmand province in July 2006, Major Adam Jowett was given command of Easy Company, a hastily assembled and understrength unit of Paras and Royal Irish rangers. Their mission was to hold the District Centre of Musa Qala at any cost. Easy Company found themselves in a ramshackle compound, cut off and heavily outnumbered by the Taliban in the town.

In No Way Out, Adam evokes the heat and chaos of battle as the Taliban hit Easy Company with wave after wave of brutal attack. He describes what it was like to have responsibility for the lives of his men as they fought back heroically over 21 days and nights of relentless, nerve-shredding combat. Finally, as they came down to their last rounds and death stared Easy Company in the face, the siege took an extraordinary turn....

Powerful, highly charged and moving, No Way Out is Adam's tribute to the men of Easy Company who paid a heavy price for serving their country.

Shattering

An incredible account of the front line action against the Taliban. Adam and his brave men were put in an impossible situation yet through hard grit and determination they succeeded in fending off the enemy. This is the realest, rawest and most exhilarating book I’ve read on the war in Afghanistan. Those lads are heroes, nothing but respect!

Narrator was excellent

I'm amazed at how the narrator managed to pull off Irish brummie and Northern Irish accents. Fascinating story

Exceptional Men

I was in two minds whether to listen to this book as I am myself a bereaved Mom, however this book is gripping and tells the true story of the heroism of our Soldiers, their camaraderie and their strength. The pride of Major Adam Jowett shines through. (I loved the little mentions of my Son James' Regiment HCR). I will remember this as the true version of events during that time. you are so right to be proud of yourself Adam and Easy Company for your courage, strength, humour and endeavour in such a perilous situation. The heroism of you all shines through in every word. What an amazing band of brothers. God bless X

A brilliant story that I have yet to hear!

Author please please get a decent narrator! I got 8 minutes in to Chapter 2 (Chapter 1 is the intro) and turned off, the robotic voice is excruciating painful to listen to. I know the story behind the book, I even know one of the soldiers involved and as such will do it justice and but the physical book.

When the narrator pronounced Op Banner as Oh Pee Banner I thought it was an error but it got me listening closely, the voice is human but it sounds robotic like its been loaded on to a computer that then reads the dialogue........when it pronounced Gornji Vakuf worse than Siri I turned off.

This book requires passion when it's read, sadly the voice lacks anything!

Monotone narrater killed it :(

Really tried hard with this book because the story is good, but unfortunately to listen to its not good!.
He just sounds flat all the time even when the author is describing combat scenes the narrator doesn’t convey the intensity in his voice which is really disengaging!.
His voice would be better suited for educational material definitely not a book of this kind.

A Soldiers Story

A gripping account enhanced by a talented narrator. I feel that the epilogue should have been a prologue. To allow the authors story to say bollocks to his critics.

A great story.

Loved this story. The camaraderie developed by the troops in this s**thole really shines through. Great narration. I had to keep reminding myself that the author and the performer were 2 different individuals.

Excellent from start to finish

Very well written and narrated, went through all the highs and lows and laughed and cried with the Major and his men as the story moved along.

Brilliant!

Really enjoyed this account, a real eye opener. Very well written and read. A massive injustice that that this company was treated so poorly and not recognised when they returned home. I hope that this has been rectified since the book was published.

What an incredible story!

I loved this book from start to finish. Adam captured the true essence of what it means to be a soldier. his writing style was easy, fun and so authentic. And what about that rollercoaster of emotions Easy company endured over those few short weeks. You are true heros and the ultimate source of inspiration for me. BZ...

Dull.

Very childish narrative, and boring half way through. Couldnt finish, total loss of interest. No thanks.
