Publisher's summary

An autobiographical account of one US Marine Reservists tours as a Mortuary Affairs Marine. His story begins in 2002 as an everyday postal letter carrier in Springfield, Ohio when he gets the call to muster. In the next three years, his life is thrust onto the world stage as an active participant in combat. His unique experiences as an MA (Mortuary Affairs) Marine puts him and his fellow teammates directly into the path of war.

Told in first person view, hear what it was like to witness a despotic regime crumble, walk the streets of terrorist held cities on foot patrols, go on Search and Recovery missions to recover the fallen off of battlefields, and feel the sting of loss of a friend to the harsh realities of war. These are the stories that are never spoken, by a Marine who was there, to return the fallen home with honor.

A portion of each sale of a physical book will be donated to three separate nonprofit charities. Semperfifund.org, Eodwarriorfoundation.org, and WWIAF.org.

Great Story. Easy to follow. A true account of combat and that everyone has a job and a duty to fill I. the military. Not all heroes wear Capes.

An amazing book!

John Pruden did a great job narrating this work as I've come to expect from him.
The author paints a vivid picture of his experience. Everything from the family hardship of deployment, the solemn duty undertaken to the jokes and conflicts between enlisted men and officers can be felt by anyone who served. this book honestly made me feel like my heart was breaking at some points and had me laughing in tears in others.

An easy top shelf book for me.

Growing up I personally knew the Author as a very near and dear family friend. I had knowledge of his military career and what it consisted of mainly through word of mouth. I love and enjoy my personally signed physical copy of the book and I'm glad that I was able to complete the book and fully understand the courage and sacrifices he made for our safety of the country.

Exceptional read, Amazing listen, Riveting story!

This book definitely exceeded my expectations! An amazing story about a hero who sacrificed greatly for family and country. I have immense respect and admiration for GySgt Chris Bussler. This literary work of art is brutally honest, very exciting and amazingly moving .
I really enjoyed listening to this format after reading the book. The audio version helped reveal fascinating insights and facts I may have missed or that reading experience alone did not afford. The reader, John Pruden's, voice has the perfect pitch and cadence for this type of book.

Bumpy ride

I personally know the author he's a good man. His story can be a little hard to get through if you've served and I've seen the sacrifices so many of our fellow service members have made but it's a story that needed to be told and needs to be listened to by all so they have a better understanding of the sacrifices the service members make everyday and some that make the ultimate sacrifice.

Excellent read!

As an avid reader of all things military, I was completely impressed with this book. It was written for the layman, no heavy tech talk, no abbreviations that weren’t explained fully. A touching book of what these soldiers go through to honor our fallen. Every American should read this to know how our fallen are taken care of and honored.

No Tougher Job!

What an amazing story. You forget about some of the real hero’s that work in the military, and this story is truly about those working with fallen “angels” and ensuring they make it home with honor.
Narration was perfect for this book, and looking for more by this narrator.
