Trigger warning, this podcast is about eating disorders. It also involves alcoholism, suicidal ideation, and miscarriage.

This is my recovery diary. I tried to initially make this in an almost “influencer” way. Where it felt relatable but still separated. I have decided to rework the whole thing.

My first season was made with rose colored glasses. I thought I was in a perfect relationship and I was excited about recovering. But it turns out I didn’t like recovery because I wanted to recover, I was in love with the idea of recovery.

From the second season onwards, I’m doing this in a different way than the first season. My episodes won’t be stretched out past the main topic I want to talk about. They will be probably about 10 minutes unless I feel like it’s a conversation that needs to be longer. Recovery isn’t pretty, it’s a struggle. Every struggle is different, and this is mine. Here’s my journey of building myself into the person I want to be.

    When people are giving you interventions or commenting on your poor eating habits or trying to micromanage you to help you avoid bad habits, it can be so so frustrating. It can cause anger, resentment, and you may find those who are doing it to be rather annoying. However, a lot of times people are trying to intervene because they care and want you around in this world longer.     I did not ever think I was going to be happy the way I am now when I was going through the worst of my eating disorder. I am now happy - I have a puppy, I’m married, and I have a wonderful house with my amazing husband. Things will get better for you.I also discuss how food won’t be fun forever during recovery, it will be hard and eventually it will feel mundane. But you don’t ever stop trying to move forward in recovery.
