What would happen if the noisiest, most talkative class of 5th graders in history dared each other not to talk for 48 hours? This is the premise Andrew Clements explores in one of his most compelling stories yet.©2007 Andrew Clements. All rights reserved (P)2007 Simon and Schuster Inc. All rights reserved. Reseñas de la Crítica

"Despite the rivalry that started the contest, the longstanding animosity between the boys and girls dissipates as the students bond over the experiment. Presuming the novel doesn't generate similar contests in real life, readers may be compelled to use their voices to praise Clement's deft handling of an interesting premise." ( Publishers Weekly)

I liked this story more than some of the other books by Andrew Clements and the narrating is spot on!

Good plot

Clements - as always - breaks the Children's fiction mold today that puts adults in the backseat and lets kids rule the world. In this book, the kids remain the center of the text while adults are portrayed as real people - smart, flawed, and good. Refreshing!

another amazing title

I think it was one of the best Battle of the Books books of 2024-2025 and if thought this was amazing then go read Willodeen or Fish in a tree if you haven’t already

The story was a great read, my three kids sat quietly on the road trip! They were entertained and inspired to start their own game!

Any additional comments?

This is my favorite audiobook thus far. I am a guy in my early twenties, who listens to audiobooks to help me fall asleep at night. This book kept my interest every minute. (That being said, it wasn't great for falling asleep to…but so worth it!) I felt like the author made it easy for me to connect to the characters and their situations (which are really funny at times!) I also thought that the portrayal of teachers was accurate and humanizing. (Teachers are people too. This isn't the main focus of the story, but I appreciated the variety of teachers and how some teachers can be stern, but still truly care.)

This book will make you laugh and think (but not in an academic or strenuous way). You won't want to stop till the end. The reading performance was spot on and the recording quality was flawless. Best book in my audible collection.

This is awesome.
