Publisher's Summary

No matter what he feels for Wander, he’ll never surrender to him.

I’m in control of my life. That has become Burke’s mantra. He lost control somewhere along the way, descending into a downward spiral until he hit rock bottom. Now he’s back, sober, and determined to never be in that position again. Ever.

That’s why he loves being a dominant. He’s in charge. He can plan everything into detail. He’s in control.

Until he runs into Wander, a private security guy who volunteers to become Burke’s mentor in the club. Wander questions him, challenges him, pushes and prods and pokes until Burke stands with his back against the wall.

But he refuses to surrender, even when Wander evokes feelings in Burke he’s never experienced before. Apparently, he’s not quite as straight as he thought. Whatever. That still doesn’t mean he’ll give in…or that he’ll kneel.

No Surrender is an MM romance featuring a proud, stubborn man who’s hurting and an equally bull-headed man who won’t stop until he’s discovered the truth. It’s the first book in the high heat No Regrets series, a spin-off from the No Shame series that can be enjoyed on its own, and has a suspense subplot without cliff-hangers. Please mind trigger warnings for alcoholism and parental abuse.

Amazing Story...Horrible Narrator

I was so looking forward to this after reading the No Shame series. I wanted more of Wander's story and was so glad to see Ms. Phoenix didn't disappoint. I'm hoping this is the beginning of another flaming hot series. I can't wait to see what happens next between Wander, Burke and the rest of the team.

What lost the star for me was the narrator. I actively avoid anything with Mr. Solo as his narrations tend to seriously grate on me. I thought I would give this a try though. I was seriously disappointed. He didn't do justice at all to the author's well thought out, creative and steamy "bedroom" scenes and at times sounded downright robotic in his reading. Hopefully if this becomes a full serious they will find another narrator. I might suggest Mr. Russo or Mr. Dean. If not, I'll have to skip the audio book and read it instead.

So so so good!!!

Nora Phoenix has put down the perfect foundation for her new spin-off series. Wander and Burke are so perfect together and the events that happen in this story have me so excited to see where this series will go next! I love broken heroes and following their journeys to their HEAs.

Not gonna lie, I stopped the book a time or two to vent about some of the idiocy some side characters spewed, but it’s necessary for the development of the plot. It was absolutely incredible to see the growth that Burke experienced as he took the first steps toward healing. Wander is his rock solid supporter throughout the book. He never wavers and that is beautiful to see.

John Solo is a fantastic narrator! Not only does he bring Burke and Wander to life, but he also establishes the individuality of the other characters that are featured. He is also incredible at expressing the emotions that are both on the page and implied. Had to pause once or twice during steamy scenes to cool down. Lol

If you like broken heroes, all the feels, a pinch of mystery, and a dash of kink, this is a must read book!

So happy to read this one!

Fans of No Shame have long awaited Wanders story - but who would have thought Burke would be his pairing! I absolutely loved Wander, and the way he handled himself with Burke was wonderful. Burke, on the other hand, had so much farther to go to win me over, but eventually he did. I'm loving the dynamics starting to unfold in this "family" and can't wait to see where Nora takes these guys & whoever else finds their way there. Excellent start and tie-in!
The audio: John Solo brought his melodious vocal talents to these characters and brought the story to a new dimension. I adore his smooth Dom voice for Wander & Jesse's & Ryan's differing but delicious Southern accents - yum, yes please! More than that, though, he brings ALL the emotions and the listener can't help but feel even more connected to the characters, the story. Excellent job!

Love the beginning of this new series!

I love the beginning to this new series!! I really love Burke and Wander together. I look forward to seeing where their story goes in future books, but I also want to know more about all of the other men, too. As this is a spin-off from the No Shame series, I enjoy seeing the characters from that series make small appearances. I really like having that connection when books share worlds.

Hopefully further books in this series

My last several books were narrated by Kenneth Obi - so sad to hear of his passing. So initially I struggled with John Solo but he grows on you and I started relaxing into the book half-way through - well done that man! Yet another Nora Phoenix triumph - gripping story line and great characters. Keep them coming (H'mm)

Beautiful start!

We met both Wander and Burke in the No shame series. I loved that they now met and developed their relationship. It wasn’t love at first sight. But slowly the resistance yields.
I love that Nora’s characters continue to grow in the background even if they aren’t main characters all the way so I look forward to the next book in this series. And to meet the guys in the No Shame series again is was fun! I like that when books share worlds.

John Solo is so good in many aspects. It’s easy to recognize different characters, but when it comes to emotions, when a character breaks, I feel it in my whole being!

Sweet ending to the series

Wraps up the unanswered questions from the no Shane series very nicely. Doesn’t let him off the hook but he works through and struggles through the issues.
