Publisher's summary

Computer security specialist Elizabeth Martinez has never been able to turn her back on her brother Benny. When his risky lifestyle finally lands him in harm's way, Elizabeth finds herself dragged into the dangerous underworld with him and into the cross hairs of one of Miami's death-dealing drug lords. Only after her ex-boyfriend saves her does she realize she might have no choice but to depend on the one man she has tried so desperately to forget.

Former Marine Porter Caldwell never should have let Elizabeth walk away from him all those months ago. She means more to him than anything and now that she's in danger and turned to him for help, he won't make that mistake again. When a local gang targets her and she's nearly killed in a drive by shooting, Porter vows to do whatever it takes to keep her alive. Even if it means turning his back on all that he's sworn to uphold.

Big fan of the author!

While the author never disappoints - this story was just a little too predictable. Overall an easy good story. However, the narrator- ugh - I don’t mean to sound mean but - I found her voice all wrong for this story! So much so it was very distracting! I would’ve stopped listening because of it but I just can’t stop a book in the middle.

REVIEW:
When Elizabeth Martinez brother calls for help Elizabeth is always willing to drop everything and everyone to run to his side. But this time Benny has pulled Elizabeth into a very dangerous situation that could possible leave them both dead.

This was really good book. I enjoyed the tension between Elizabeth and Porter the whole time. I really want to know more about the rest of the Caldwell brothers and am looking forward to the next book in this series.
Since this books was given to me for review on Audio I need to address that part of the review. I normally like an narrator that can tell me a story not read me a story. Pyper was a little more of the reading of the story then telling of the story. But even with that I did enjoy listening to this book on audio. I would suggest that you head over to audible (or where you buy your audio books) and listen to a sample of No One To Trust and make sure that Pyper is the right narrator for you.

Mystery, Explosive Danger, Sizzling Romance!

What did you love best about No One to Trust?

The characters are well-written and fully developed and the plot is solidly crafted even though it's a relatively quick listen at just over four hours. The premise of the series revolves around the Red Stone Security firm. I've enjoyed every one of the installments in the series

In NO ONE TO TRUST, both of the lead characters shined. My favorite character was Porter. He was positively swoon worthy with the way he devoted himself to Elizabeth's safety. He was tough, protective, and there for her through thick and thin even when she wasn't very happy about it. Alpha was written all over him. ~~~Fanning myself~~~~

What was one of the most memorable moments of No One to Trust?

The ending! It was shocking, totally unexpected and PERFECT in every way!

What about Pyper Down’s performance did you like?

The narrator, Pyper Down, was quite good and perfectly suited for this type of book. Her voice was crisp, clear and well-paced. She differentiated her voice between the characters making it easy for the listener to know who was speaking. Her narrating was more of a reader than an actress, but that style worked well with this book.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Electrifying Thriller!

Any additional comments?

The story flows smoothly and quickly keeping readers/listeners spellbound. Katie certainly knows how to write romantic suspense! I never saw the surprise. shocking ending coming and it totally rocked! You will definitely want to buckle your seatbelt with this one as it's a wild ride! If you are looking for an intriguing and passionate mystery without a dull moment, look no further than NO ONE TO TRUST!

Good pace - lots of action

No One to Trust is the first book in the Red Stone Security Series. This book features computer security specialist Elizabeth Martinez and Porter Caldwell. Because of something her brother Benny has done in the past to help her, Elizabeth has never been able to turn her back on him. Regardless of how much trouble he gets in – she does her best to get him out of it. Their family has basically turned their back on Benny but not Elizabeth. Elizabeth also has a history with Porter Caldwell – not only do they work at the same security firm but they also tried dating and Porter let Elizabeth walk away. When Benny gets in trouble way over his head and drags Elizabeth into it – Porter steps in. There was a quite a bit of action and drama in this book. The plot was believable and the story had a good pace and the narration flowed smoothly. Pyper Down did a good job with making the characters and their interaction believable. There were no noticeable breaks in the narration.

Great book!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would definitely recommend this book to friends. I love everything that I have read that Katie Reus has written, and this book is no exception. It has action, passion and a good story line and is a great lead into a series.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Porter was my favorite character. He is a strong, hot, take action kind of guy that would do anything for the woman he loves. Who wouldn't love a guy like that?

What does Pyper Down bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

It took me awhile to connect with Pyper Down's voice, but once I did I thought she did great. She has a nice voice and did a good job changing it to accomodate the different characters and in expressing their emotions.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I would have loved to listen to this book all in one sitting if I had the time. It was a great read and kept me wanting to listen to more.

Any additional comments?

I think this is a great book and will definitely listen to more in this series.

Exceptional!!!

I just stumbled upon this series and OMG, they are short no more than 5 hours but greedily packed with yummy punch after punch excitement. I can't wait to continue reading them. I am on book 3 now and ................... Worth the price also. I have read other books by this author and she is working her way into becoming one of my favorites by far. The narrator is doing a great job also.

Narrator or robot

I really enjoyed this story. It was action packed and very sexy, but I struggled with the narration. I kept thinking how much more I would enjoy this book if read by someone else. It almost seemed like a robot was reading it in very clipped, mechanical sounding sentences, with no emotion. During the time the narrator was speaking for the characters she actually did a good job of sounding like a person. But most of the book sounded robotic to me. I still gave it 4 stars because I thought the story was great.
