A Favorite On Two Fronts

As a book No Kitten Around is one of my favorites of R.J. Blain's. I think I've read it 5 or 6 times since it has come out and plan to read it a few more. It is sad and funny and very real for all of it's magic. As far as narration goes Wesley Nelson might be my all time fovorite. Each character has their own distinct voice and he displays emotion very well. He even gives you a difference for when another character's voice is coming in over the phone. Wesley Nelson is versatile and wonderful to listenn to. When R.J. Blain and Mr. Nelson are put together in this audio book I didn't even realize 5 hours had gone by when I got off of work until my dog informed me it was time for his pre-sleep potty time. At 4 in the morning. As far as I am concerned, 5 stars across the board.

Funny, pee in your pants read.

It’s rare to find an author who can deliver book after book, but this one can. Each book in this series leaves me laughing while also feeling a little like I was on a roller coaster. A little dizzy, happy and wanting to do it all over again, or in this case wanting to read the next book in the series. So, as it’s easy to see, I really love these books. It’s great to read stories, that are so unique and at time crazy. The narrators were great. They change their voices with the characters, and did a really great job. I can warmly recommend this to anyone who wants to read an unusual paranormal rom com.

Like the other romantic comedy with body count I enjoyed this book too I hope R J Blain continues to write these awesome books Love the names of the kitten and puppy in this book too

Loved it. Too cute! The stories of this series never fail to make me smile.

Plot? I would tell you if I could.

I enjoyed two books I read from this body-count series (Playing with Fire and Whatever for Hire) but this was one long non-story. It took until mid-book to get any sort of plot at all. I forced myself to go back to parts I slept through just-in-case I missed something. The humor seemed added in at odd times, as though the author thought “hmmm, this needs humor here because it has none - plop! from another book.” I also realized I do not like this narrator for these books. His range is great but there is a sibilance in his delivery of the main character that has started the grate. If I can I will be returning this one, as I won’t be listening to it again. I lived through the horrible accents in Playing with Fire and enjoyed the book but not the whispery voice in this one.

Another unique RJ Blain story.

So many turns and twists in this uniquely different love story. It amazingly comes together as the tale progresses on through its telling. Of course no spoilers or teasers will be given by me. Wesley Nelson does a very credible narration drawing in the listener as his voice characters become the story. Good choice on Blain's part in selecting him. I now have only two more Audibles to get to finish up my RJ Blain Audible collection. C Wright. (Here in the hills of Northern California)
