Publisher's summary

It's the most anticipated reality television event of the season: three spiritualists gathered together in one house to raise the ghost of Marilyn Monroe. For celebrity medium Jaime Vegas, it is to be her swan song: one last publicity blast for a celebrity on the wrong side of 40. But unlike her colleagues, who are more show than substance, Jaime is the real thing.

Reluctant to upstage her fellow spiritualists, Jaime tries to suppress her talents, as she has done her entire life. But there is something lurking in the maze of gardens behind the house: a spirit without a voice. And it won't let go until somehow Jaime hears its terrible story. For the first time in her life, Jaime Vegas understands what humans mean when they say they are haunted. Distraught, Jaime looks to fellow supernatural Jeremy Danvers for help.

As the touches and whispers from the garden grow more frantic, Jaime and Jeremy embark on an investigation into a Los Angeles underworld of black magic and ritual sacrifice. When events culminate in a psychic showdown, Jaime must use the darkest power she has to defeat a shocking enemy: one whose malicious force comes from the last realm she expected.

In a world whose surface resembles our own, Kelley Armstrong delivers a stunning alternate reality, one where beings of the imagination live, love, and fight a never-ending battle between good and evil.

Tired of listening to stories about humans? Consider the werewolf! Taking various forms over the course of centuries and mythologies, often as flesh-devourers, werewolves now commonly appear in fantasy and romance novels as shape-shifters. The shape-shifting element in werewolves' stories has almost humanized them, depicting the internal struggles we all face within ourselves, on some level or another.

Loved this Book

This series is great! I enjoy the world that Armstrong has created. The narrator was decent, though I would have preferred a different voice. It didn't fit well with the writing style. Anyway, love the author and the series. I recommend Industrial Magic. It's my favorite of the series, but they are all enjoyable.

This Author Has Another Hit

It takes awhile to get used to the narrator but the rest about the rest of the audiobook is all 5 Star.

awesome, want more of Jamie and Jermey

while it is horrible the story line of the children.. the fact that justice is servered and the children were set free to go to a better place brought tears to my eyes and made my heart weep for them.. good over evil... enjoyed the book.

Better than expected

This book was much better than haunted. The story has plenty of action but without as much gore as Haunted.

No spoilers

I'm new to this world Armstrong has created, better late than never lol. I love it Armstrong writes a truly fantastic world. Each book focuses on someone different with characters that cross over to some of the books so you could read as stand alone I myself have been skipping around. Each book has well developed or should I say developing characters. Packed with action, suspense, and romance. The books are so very well written. Armstrong is Truly a master author. As far as narration well humm bitten has a fantastic narrator book 2 not so much. Then we come to Merlington at first I I was not liking her. Her male voices were bad. But all the other voices and her delivery of the story were fantastic so I over looked the male voices. With each book Merlington got better and better over all she's not bad loved the way she read the story and most of the voices are really good (Male voices do get better) can't wait to listen to more of the fantastic world.

All time fav of the bunch

It’s hard not to say that every story in the Otherworld series is my favorite story because they’re all wonderful, the way they are intricately woven as well as written is amazing! This book however IS my favorite, and now that I’m on my third time reading through them (this time on audio) I’ve realized that it’s also the reason I started re-reading them....again. I couldn’t wait to get to this one. I don’t know if it’s because I relate to Jaime better than any of the other characters or if it’s because my crush has always been on Jeremy, it could be a little of both, whatever it is, I love this book, and if you are listening to them on audio and you’re listening to them in the order that they were written then you’re used to this performer. The one who narrated Bitten is still the best by far but I’m used to this one and she’s OK

Fun good listen.

I liked this story. I love anything that connects with Elena and Clay, but wish they were more involved. Worthwhile though.

Fun and Exciting

As with all of Kelley Armstrong's series this one meets with the excellence we have come to expect from her! I enjoy this series in how there are always strong male characters there to save the day yet there are rarely needed. These are strong females that know when they need help (at times) and accept it (sometimes) when they need it!😳 These books are light enough to be enjoyed and intense enough to be exciting and just sexy enough to be an added bonus (not the main theme that so many books are now that the sex takes away from the actual story line.) thanks again and keep em coming!

The best short story collection I have read.

K.A. thank you. This collection of short stories was great. I really don't like most short stories collection. This was different. I felt so connected to each story and each had worth to the main series the Otherworld. I see your name and buy the book knowing it will not disappoint.
