Publisher's Summary

I'm the only witch at the academy who can wield a rare magic. But should I trust the man who can teach me to unlock my powers?

The events on Halloween taught me a lesson - I'm not human and the supernatural world lives by different rules. Now I'm back at the academy determined to work hard, develop my magic skills, and save lives.

I met my aunt who showed me that life as a future-sighted witch has greater challenges than I realized. Especially for me, because we've discovered I've more abilities than anybody expected.

The new guys in my life face problems, too. Jamie is using dangerous magic to protect himself. Ash is struggling to control how dangerous he is to others. And Andrei's life is under threat as a result of Halloween. Can Tobias help...or will he report us for breaking rules?

The hunters who survived the attack are looking for revenge, and the Dominion is moving closer to the academy. Add in the pressure of working with Katherine and Amelia on the Winter Ball committee, and I'll be lucky to reach the end of term in one piece.

Nightworld Academy: Term Two is the second in this upper young adult/new adult series of magic academy books. The main characters are 18 or older, and this is a slow burn reverse harem story.

Please note: It is necessary to listen to Nightworld Academy: Term One before listening to this audiobook.

Secrets and intrigue

Maeve tries to navigate her way through this new world but is met with more lies and secrets. Her bonds with her men continue to grow. I don’t want to give anything away but that ending I can’t wait for more. This also has an excellent narration to go with the story.

Steady entertainment

My husband & I are enjoying our joint listening sessions during our work commute. They story lines are building, not with huge splashy reveals but smaller insights & clues through the multiple characters & angles. Great cliffhanger here & looking forward to term 3.

Great sequel to book 1

This story picks where book one left off. The dynamics to the group are slowly shifting and becoming more. You learn more about Andre’s background as well as many others in the group. The twist about Tobias has left many questions and the book ends on a cliffhanger. The vision with Andre has me excited to see how their relationship grows. This an awesome slow burn romance and I hope things continue to evolve. I can’t wait for the next book!

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Term Two kept me on the edge of my seat

L. J. Swallow continues to blow me away with the world she has created in Night World Academy. Term Two continues where Term One left off, so you will want to read it in order.

This book gave me all the feels. Not only did I fall harder for each of the characters in this story, I was drawn further into the world Lisa created. There was the perfect blend of chemistry, suspense, super natural powers, and memorable characters. I loved the twists and turns and I never knew what would happen next. I am dying to find out what will happen in Term Three.

The narration of this story drew me in to the story even more. L. J. Swallow, Sarah L. Colton and Steve Campbell were the perfect combination at bringing this world to life. I loved their diversity as performers and unique ability to portray multiple characters. I will definitely listen to more books from these three.

Still fan-girling over Sarah as Maeve

Maeve's vision of Jamie dying did not come true on Halloween but that doesn't mean it wasn't a mess. They were attacked by Hunters off-campus and Ash and Andrei both lost control. People were hurt, memories had to be wiped, and now answers must be given to Theodora and the Confederacy. And now that the group knows that Maeve kept her vision a secret, trust has been broken within the group. Jamie starts taking a dangerous risk to keep himself safe, Ash is on the verge of losing control, Andrei again puts distance between himself and the group, Maeve has a meeting that doesn't go as planned, Tobias may not be the ally they thought he was, and Amelia joins the Winter Ball committee with Katherine

Secrets, suspense, shadiness, surprises, and a smidgen of sexiness. This book was non-stop entertainment. I liked the first one; I loved this one. So many answers, so many new questions. And this group. How frustrating they can be at times. One step forward, two steps back. The attraction is there, the sexual tension is there, the friendships are there; the trust, the communication are definitely not there. There is so much fear. Fear of witches, visions, betrayals, blood lust, losing control. Their bond is growing but they still have so far to go. I love the internal struggle each character is facing. Each is a personal fight and each must come to terms with their own mind before they can all come together fully. Such complexity. I appreciate it. I love that so many seem to have their own personal agendas at this point and that I don't know who to trust. Then there is the larger fight between the Confederacy and the Dominion and how this group will play into the fight.

Once again Sarah Colton perfectly voices Maeve. I cannot imagine anyone else capturing every mood, every predicament of Maeve nearly as well as Sarah manages. I am so impressed. I feel that I don't give enough credit to Steve Campbell because he's doing even more voices and doing them well bur Sarah as Maeve steals this one.

Another spot on story/narration

This story was so good. The author kept me on the edge of my seat again. There was just the right amount of twists to keep me guessing.
The narration of this story was spot on by both narrators. I enjoyed listening to them and was easily able to distinguish between the characters. A+ performance and A++ story!

Great series

Great continuation of the story. New questions to be answered, potential for so many romantic connections, great drama and great action. I'm loving this series and can't wait to find out what happens next.
Love the narrators. They really helped me to lose myself in this world and story.

Not as gripping as the first.

I liked the story, but as it's listed as reverse harem, I was left feeling disappointed. It was more like feelings for more than one boy. I get it's a slow burn, but after two books, I expected more.

Some pronunciations were off, too. The main one was horror. It sounded like the narrator said whore. I had to go back to make sure I heard it right.

wonderfully addicting

Wow. This series just keeps getting better. The narration is superb, and the writing transports you into another place. I have gotten to know the characters and it's just amazing. Like getting lost in another world for a little while.

Wow what a series!

I enjoyed Term One so was excited to listen to Term Two, I think I enjoyed this more than the first. Maeve annoyed me in the first book but I got to like her character in this one.
The storyline was gripping, It was fast-paced, the RH part is still slow burn, which in reality we are only on term two so makes total sense.
I’m eager to listen or read the next term now.

I Want More!!!!

A new term begins. The group wonders if the teacher who knows what they did will turn them in or keep his word. None of them feel that they can trust him. Jamie has cast a spell from a dangerous book that has put another student away for using it. The book is known to consume people. There is also an investigation about the attack on the hunters that were there that night. I enjoyed this book much more than I did the first book. Which is weird for me. Normally I LOVE a first book and the rest of the series will fall flat. Or I'll love every book equally. I feel like the first book was more of a set up than anything. This book really gets into the meat of things. I can't wait to continue on. Maeve doesn't irritate me nearly as much as she did in the first book. I was happy to have gotten to see more of Amelia in this book. And more of Andrei, Jamie, and Ash. I'm not really sure how I feel about the professors. Mainly because they aren't really prominent in the books that much. I wasn't impressed with the performance of the narrators in the first book. They made a recovery this book. They did a lot better. I've listened to Sarah L. Colton before and knew how great she's been in other books. I didn't realize until this book that I'm pretty sure I've actually listened to one other book by Steve Campbell before. He says this one word very uniquely. I really did enjoy the book. I hope that anybody who has read the first book and weren't fully impressed with it will read this anyways. It definitely picks up. I feel like this is a story that builds and builds until the very end. It's a shame the rest aren't in audio yet. I like to keep the format the same when I read books. If I listen to it in audio, I like to listen tot hem all in audio. If I read them, I like to read them. I may just make an exception for this one.

Cliff hanger warning

This was a good second installment of the series. Maeve has a bit more backbone in this book which I appreciate but she’s still not as fierce as I’d like her to be. She’s still a bit timid and whiny at times but overall I liked the book and I’ll definitely listen to the next one!

Great continuation to this series

Nightworld Academy Term Two was another fascinating paranormal story that had me hooked from beginning to end. This novel continued where the first book left off and was filled with drama and intrigue and some secrets being revealed. The storyline was layered and detailed with excellent world building. I love seeing how the characters relationships slowly evolve from the previous book. With twists and turns around every corner and a cliffhanger ending you would not see coming, this novel was a phenomenal read and I would highly recommend it to all lovers of YA Paranormal romance.
The audiobook version of this novel was narrated by Sarah L.Colton and Steve Campbell. These two did a marvelous job with the characters. Their voices suited the role perfectly and they brought the story to life. It was a pleasure listening to them narrate this novel. I can't wait for the next book in this series.

Very entertaining!

I really enjoyed how Maeve is coming into her abilities in the second book. She seems to be much more at ease in the school and the supernatural world.
The story was again fast-paced and very entertaining. The narration was great!

Looking forward to continuing this series :-)

Enjoyable

Nightworld Academy: Term Two by LJ Swallow is a new upper YA/NA series of magic academy books that I listened to on audio narrated by Sarah Colton and Steve Campbell.

This is the second book of LJ’s that I have read and it definitely won’t be my last. The story does end on a cliffhanger so I can’t wait for Nightworld Academy: Term Three to be released on audible.

Sarah and Steve did an amazing job on the narration. They really made the story come to life with their accents and tones for each character.
