A marked improvement

After the hit and miss quality volume, I was hesitant to see what volume two had in store but thankfully it collects better stories and better quality recordings. The standouts here are The End of the Whole Mess by Matthew Broderick and Home Delivery read by King himself. Kathy Bates and Tim Curry also turn in excellent performances while Cronenberg whispers his way through Sneakers, but it is still a great listen.

It's ok

the first one has better and more king style stories. even if the last one was about his kids little league(which I enjoyed listening to throughly). but this one felt like the least of his style, except for the last two. I thought those were superb 10/10. now onto volume 3

Classic King stories

Loved the Sherlock Holmes story. Tim Curry was perfect for it. Worth the listen.

Great stuff

I enjoyed this a little more than the first volume. I read the book when it first came out and remember it fondly. I was not disappointed. It is great stuff read by a star cast of voice talent.

One of Kings Best

Fantastic set of classic short stories. An excellent array of talented readers as well. Classic King
Only small downside is the sometimes overbearing/poor sound effects and music that are sometimes thrown in strange places.

Lisa Simpson

Any additional comments?

The section read by Yeardley Smith (aka Lisa Simpson) was great but I had the image of Lisa reading the story

Mixed bag. Annoying music and sound effects.

As with most Stephen King short story collections, this was a mixed bag. Some stories were great, while some were just okay.

The good thing is you get a lot of King variety, and if there's a story you're not that into, you're onto another one shortly.

The biggest negative was that there is extremely annoying music and sound effects throughout.

Very good book

Would you listen to Nightmares & Dreamscapes, Volume II again? Why?

I usually only listen to a book once, but I would enjoy listening to this again.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Nightmares & Dreamscapes, Volume II?

It was a treat that Steven King, narrated one of the stories himself.

Any additional comments?

I loved Nightmares & Dreamscapes, Volume I and I felt that Volume II was even better.
