Publisher's summary

An evil force pulses deep within the heart of England, overflowing with maniacal glee....

Paranormal investigator Denny Purcell finds herself in over her head when she is brought to the scene of supernatural activity at Malpas Abbey. Unlocking the mysteries of this abandoned relic is one thing; surviving the horrors it hides is something else entirely....

This box set contains all three books of the best-selling Nightmare series by David Longhorn. Listen at your own risk.

Nightmare Abbey: Overlooking a dark hill, Malpas Abbey has been avoided by locals for centuries. Its infamous history is marred with blood and terror. Only the foolish would dare enter such a place, where devilish hauntings have left a string of dead bodies in its wake. For Denny Purcell, this is right up her alley...until she realizes she is way over her head.

Nightmare Valley: The peaceful town of Machen is hiding secrets darker than the eerie forest surrounding it. Wide-eyed children roam the woods pleading for help. Yet, behind their innocent façade lies a resurrected evil with an insatiable thirst for blood.

Nightmare Revelation: The nightmare continues to cast a deep shadow as dreadful stories of murder and mayhem make their way into London. But death comes knocking when a thick fog crawls through the night. The smell of fear lingers in the air, and no one is safe.

Scary Good

The beginning was a bit boring as the characters were a bit underdeveloped and the storyline hard to follow. Almost gave up but continued. Glad I did. Rest of book really good. The only thing that seemed odd was the story taking place in England, but some of the voices portrayed sounded more Australian than English, but other than that, good performance!

Not Too Shabby...

In a day and time, when we feel like we have seen it all, heard it all, Nightmare jumps out of the shadows and proves us wrong.
And open-ended enough to continue the story line at a later date.

Nightmare series

I really liked this story about other dimensions. I gave this story five stars because it grabbed my attention and kept it through out the whole book or should I say books? This writer tells a smooth flowing story. I liked how he had another point of view on "what goes bump in the night" scenario. I will read more from this author.

Long live Cthulhu

No its not Cthulhu but something way more terrifying. That's what I thought from the beginning of book 3. That was the book I started because when I first downloaded this series it was all out of wack. Chapter 1 was the intro, Chapter 2 was actually chapter 6, Chapter 3 was chapter 7, Chapter 4 was chapter 8, Chapter 5 was chapter 9, Chapter 6 was chapter 10, Chapter 7 is Book 3 Prologue . Chapter 8 was chapter 1, Chapter 9 was chapter 2, Chapter 10 was chapter 3 and Chapter 11 was chapter 4. I tried to re-download the book but it had the same result. I actually read from chapter 8 which was actually chapter 1 of book 3 then had to go back and find some other chapters that followed. It was a big mess and to be honest I would've just not even bothered but the story was so good I had to know what was going on. I re-downloaded the book 3 times after the third book in order for the rest to be correct. I do not know if it was something wrong with my phone or what but the third time was the charm and I was able to truly enjoy the rest of the book from beginning to end. I really enjoy other dimensions sci-fi and the story is really captivating, as I mentioned captivating enough for me to read it out of sequence and hunt for the right chapters. If you get this book and its out of order don't try to email anybody as I heard no response for weeks. Just try to re-download it multiple times until you get it right.

Creepy and interesting

I loved how creepy the first book was. I was on tenterhooks the whole time. The second, not as much, but it was still a great story. Instead of the story being centered in a single house, it branched out to a whole town and forest. I really enjoyed the story, but it didn't have the same creepy factor the first one had. It felt like I was used to the creatures by that point. Nothing new in that corner. However, the situation and story were really good and had me listening as often as I could. The last book was good, but not in the same way as the first or even the second. It was more "political." The creatures had ceased to really be terrifying monsters and were more like invaders of a sort. It had a more spy kind of infiltration feel to it. Like pod people except not...I can't explain it. Despite the change, or maybe because of it, the story was fresh and interesting.

All three books were interesting and captivating in their own way, and I'd definitely recommend them.

Creepy collection.

The Nightmare Series is made up of three books: Nightmare Abbey, Nightmare Valley, and Nightmare Revelation. Going in I was expecting a ghost hunter-ish experience, but it goes beyond that. It's not ghosts we have to fear but rather extra-dimensional 'demons' that are referred to as Interlopers that are hell bent on invading our world. These are fun creepy tales loaded with an interesting cast of characters, but I thought the pacing could use a little tweaking. Shorter, punchier chapters. If you like horror stories you might just want to give this collection a try.

This set of book is narrated by Thom Bowers. I'm familiar with his work as he narrated all 9 of the Berkley Street books (excellent series BTW) and once again I thought he did a very good, though I have to be honest and say I wasn't crazy about all his voices this time around (especially Denny) Sorry Thom but the voice you gave her just got on my nerves, lol.
