Publisher's Summary

The most frightening movie ever made is now a novel!

Newsweek calls Night of the Living Dead a, "True horror classic."

Why does Night of the Living Dead hit with such chilling impact? Is it because everyday people in a commonplace house are suddenly the victims of a monstrous invasion? Or is it because the ghouls who surround the house with grasping claws were once ordinary people, too?

Decide for yourself as you listen, and the horror grips you. All the cannibalism, suspense, and frenzy of the smash-hit are here in the novel.

This is the original novel by John A. Russo based on the screenplay by John A. Russo and George A. Romero.

Really Enjoyed

Even though I've seen the movie the audio had extra parts that the movie didn't show. It even scared me a bit the narrator really got me into the story inside the characters heads.

This should be remade to a movie

I liked it only thing I wished was it had sound effects I first heard this on YouTube but it was only one chapter that one was read by someone else and had zombie sound effects and night chirps footsteps etc

A Must Read For NotLD Fans

I was expecting a scene for scene copy of the original movie, and while it was close, we get more information here than from the movie. There are a few key differences in the book, I don't want to spoil them here, but events unfold in a slightly different way than they do in the movie. in addition, we also get the hear what is going through the minds of our "heros", giving us a little mire insight into their actions and motivations.

I'm a huge fan of both Romero and Russo, and u thought this novel wouldn't add much to the experience that is NotLD, but I was wrong and I'm very glad for that.

The narrator was pretty good. There could have been a little but more of a difference between Ben and Harry's voices, as I got them mixed up once or twice, but overall a good performance. I would listen to another of his performances should I come across him in another audio book.

Amazing

Still one of my favorite zombie stories. May have even enjoyed this more than the movie because of the extended detail of the book. Thank you John Russo.

Classic

I love all things Zombie so when this came out it was a must listen. Like the film with extra bits but my only gripe was it wasn’t long enough…
