When the City of San Francisco wrecked outside of Harney, Nevada, Til Duprey lost more than a plum assignment in the Far East. He did manage to gain a wife, however.

The couple return to Tennessee in order for Til to recover, when he is offered his dream job. But that dream will take him and his bride into the middle of a war zone. Do they go, or do they stay home where it's "safe"?

Meanwhile, one of the first cases the Shay Detective Agency worked on was an insurance fraud that resulted in the property owner going to prison. He would do anything to get revenge on the Shays. He winds up in the same facility with Lucy Shay's no account brother, Kingsley. The two get their heads together to try and get some of their own back.
