Dull

Very dull. narrator was really deadpan. No emotion expressed while reading. story may have been better with a more expressive narrator.

Good Read

New Amish Beginnings was a great read by Becca Fisher. Benjamin moves to a Florida Amish community after a rough break up. Sadie grew up in Florida and always tries to stay away from dating tourists. I really enjoyed reading this story and can’t wait to read more by Becca Fisher.

Amish in Florida

Two people in two very different parts of the world who get their hearts broken, but finally discover the beginnings of true love when they meet. The narrator for this story was good and didn't distract from the story, but did add some depth to the characters. A nice twist to include the Florida tourist angle with an Amish romance.

Bottom line: Easy fun read/listen on a rainy afternoon.

A very engaging listen

First, I'm required to say that I received this book in exchange for an honest review. My honest opinion is that this is a wonderful story. Sadie lives in Pinecraft, Florida, a vacation town for the Amish. The actual number of Amish residents, though, is pretty small. Which means it's very difficult to find true love because most of the men are just vacationing. She goes through a couple of relationships that end badly and is about ready to give up on ever finding a husband.

At first, I was turned off a little by the narrator, but as the story went on, I was drawn in and couldn't turn it off. She does give different voices to the characters, and the voices are realistic, not that real low fake voice for a man type of thing. The story drew me in because it was quite engaging. I wanted to know what would happen next. Becca Fisher is an excellent storyteller and I look forward to "reading" all of her stories!

I highly recommend this charming story.

Enjoyable read/listen

New Amish Beginnings (Amish Romance), my first read from Christian author Becca Fisher If there's a problem with this book it’s that it's so short. You want stories/books longer so you can enjoy them for a longer time. I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reading & reviewing it. Carrie Lee Martz’s talented, melodious narration adds to the book's enjoyment. I'll be reading more from this author. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

More Amish romance

This book was typical Amish girl looking for husband. It was easy listen; but offered nothing new in this genre.

Good short story

I got this story via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. I liked this quick story. The location was in Florida. a place I never pictured the Amish. They also rode bikes and golf carts. Who would have thought? The story was quick yet complete. It showed what happens when the right person to love comes along. Very real emotions. The narration was good and easy to listen to.

An enjoyable listen

I enjoyed listening to New Amish Beginnings. It was a sweet second chance romance. I liked the characters and thought they worked well together. I will listen to another book by this author. I thought the narrator had a lovely smooth voice that was easy to listen to. I am sure others would enjoy this book. I recommend it to anyone who wants a quick and easy book to listen to.

A sweet, simple, and short Amish romance

New Amish Beginnings is a sweet romance about starting over and finding love. The story is short, simple, and quiet. Perhaps more interesting is this peak into a different way of life where even the simple luxury of phones are not allowed.

The reader has a pleasant voice, but her narration is a bit dull.

I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Boring and narrator has nasally voice

Repetition. Whiney-voiced bad dialogue. He said. She said. He said. She said. Too much backstory. Couple don't meet till near end. Romance between leads too easy. No conflict. Wasn't rooting for dull heroine. Only finished because reading all Amish books I can find.
