Publisher's summary

Rose Island Lighthouse, Rhode Island, June 1880.

Will she betray his trust to stay on the island she loves?

Abbie Watson is content to spend her days clamming, crabbing, and tending Rose Island Lighthouse. Her grandpa is the head light keeper, but his senility may lead to their eviction. Since leaving the island would kill her beloved Gramps, Abbie will do anything to keep him in the one place he knows and loves.

Wealthy Nathaniel Winthrop III's wild living has gained him a reputation as the bad boy among the elite social circles of Newport. After a blow to the head in a yachting accident washes him up on Rose Island, Nathaniel has no memories of his past. Abbie tends the wounded stranger in her home only to realize he assumes they're married. Although she knows she needs to correct Nathaniel's mistake, his presence calms Gramps and provides a way to prevent eviction from the lighthouse. The longer the charade continues, the harder it gets for Abbie to tell Nathaniel the truth, more so as she begins to fall in love. Everyone she's ever loved has abandoned her. Will Nathaniel leave her too, once he discovers he's not really her husband?

I liked the storyline!

A light keeper’s daughter rescues a man on the beach. They fall in love of course... ❤️

Great series

I have enjoyed this series so much. With the author’s notes and history of the lighthouses she wove into the stories. Some based off real people. I am sad to see it end. Great narration and wonderful words make it complete!

Really liked it!

Loved the storyline and how Nathaniel chose to do what was right instead of what he wanted. It’s a good message in a world where everyone says to “follow your heart” Didn’t love the narrator. She doesn’t drop off the sentence with her voice. I probably should have just read this one myself. But GREAT book.

Beacons of Hope: Book 5

What a way to end this wonderful series! Such a great and sweet story. This is the 4th one I listened to but I’m planning on listening to the one I have yet to listen to. I love Abbie and Nathaniel’s love story so much. One thing I also like about the series is the additional information provided by the author regarding lighthouses and the people who inspire the books or characters in them. The narrator did a great job and has steadily improved with each book. I am looking to listen to or read more books by this author in the future.

Wonderful

I love several books by Jody, but this is my favorite. She did a great job showing that we are all flawed and that there are times that we pull away from God and go down the wrong path, and that there is nothing that we can do that makes us beyond forgiveness. I would suggest it to anyone who enjoys an amazing romance story.

Good, but not my favorite.

Well, this series has been full of interesting lighthouse & lightkeeper history, and this last book was no exception. I enjoyed these bits of knowledge and hope to build on them in the future with other books and research.
This story was a difficult one for me to enjoy because of the lying. I get the reasons, and I cared about the characters, but I'm not fond of lies or perpetuating lies so it was always there bothering me throughout the story. I also felt the sexual tension was a bit much for my taste. Again, I understand why, especially based on the hero's past, but it was more than I prefer in a story.
Now, don't get me wrong, some of my favorite heated moments are written by this very author, in her Orphan Train series, but they are fewer & farther between, and there is a bit more angst involved.
That being said, I will still probably read everything (Christian Fiction) that Jody Hedlund ever writes because she is a compelling storyteller and a fun historian who has introduced me to so many aspects of history that I'd known little to nothing about and I really appreciate her for that.
And still enjoyed Becky Doughty's narration, very well done!

Feel Good Book

This was a feel good book, and the fact it was the final book in the series it was really bittersweet for me
So in this book we follow Abbie and Nathanial .. Abbie rescues Nathanial who loses his memories and thinks he is her husband and tries to be the best husband for her .. but there are some complications when he figures out the truth
I didn't like the separation period, but the ending was so sweet and wholesome
it's a nice series to read if you are in the right mood

The narrator was actually good and her performance improved a lot from previous books
