Just as good as Darkest Minds

For a middle book, this one blows that "middle book syndrome" idea right out of the water. Wow! Every bit as action packed and drama driven as the first book, Alexandra Bracken has delivered a whopper of a sequel. The audio by Amy McFadden is superb. Every voice was distinct, every emotion appropriate. I am getting spoiled by all these voice actors and highly impatient with those who just narrate. This book is amazing. Just get it and listen to it - you're welcome.

I have so enjoyed this series narrated by Amy McFadden, this book is probably one of the best narrated audiobook series I have listened to.

Which character – as performed by Amy McFadden – was your favorite?

Ruby was so annoying with her waffling but I rooted for her nonetheless, so she is my favorite. Liam was my favorite because of his honest, sustaining LOVE for Ruby. I also loved Chubbs obstinance!!!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Too many to recount, this book was a roller coaster of psycological thriller & torture!

Amazing story filled with gripping stories and intricate characters! great read and worth the money spent. The narrator is pretty great too! amazing inflection! The southern accent makes me giggle just a little bit:)

Alot like Marvels mutant war

All about man's inability to live with 'others' that have more power than us. We can't live knowing someone can beat us at everything. We fear it so much that we will kill ourselves in the process of remaining on top of the pyramid of life. I MUST have all the power!

All the emotions

Man, this book made me laugh out loud, yell at the main character and cry. I loved it! My heart broke at times. I hope this author continues writing about these characters!

I honestly loved this book so much. I would put it on when I'm doing homework or I'm at work and I need a pick-me-up. if you like Adventure, mystery, and a romantic story all rolled into one, then this is the story for you.

Suspenseful

This reading of the second book of the trilogy made me want to keep on running or driving whenever I had it playing. I hated having to pause it because it kept me on my toes. Bracken does it again, gives the reader an excellent story with her vast vocabulary and artistic ability to paint a mental picture so vivid you feel like you are there. McFadden also keeps up a spectacular performance in continuing the voices created for each character.

Loved it! I got very into it towards the middle and couldn't stop listening! It was my first audiobook and I wasn't sure if I would like it, but I really did.
