Endorphins are natural painkillers. As such, they function as an important neurochemical to create feelings of happiness, satisfaction, excitement, and relaxation. Although endorphins are usually released automatically and naturally, there are ways to stimulate a healthy dosage of endorphins at the right time. And that lies at the very essence of this brief guide. However, endorphins are also related to addictions, which makes it so crucial to understand how to maintain the right balance.

If you have a basic idea of what the hypothalamus does, you probably know how important it is to keep it healthy and have it function in an optimal way. The hypothalamus is there for the regulation of specific metabolic processes and other activities that relate to the autonomic nervous system. It synthesizes and secretes neurohormones, called releasing hormones or hypothalamic hormones, and these in turn stimulate or inhibit the secretion of pituitary hormones.

Neuromarketing techniques are based on scientific discoveries of what humans are really thinking. The brain processes thoughts so fast and people buy things so impulsively that it has often been hard to pinpoint why a certain someone makes a decision to purchase. But with neuromarketing principles, getting into the subconscious mind is now becoming easier and more targeted.

Story
Our cerebrum gets damaged. It either happens physically or psychologically, and both are intertwined. And therefore, the brain has to compensate for what has happened to it. New connections between neurons are shaped, and these stimulate action. But what if you could influence this process to make it run more smoothly and benefit your life? Neuroplasticity isn’t widely known, but it is not a new concept either. The principles and methods that refer to it have been tried and tested, and have helped people to remove stress, reorganize their thoughts, and take control of their lives.

Would you achieve more if you could envision your success? A neural network is a computing system made up of a number of simple, highly interconnected processing elements, which transfer information by their dynamic state response to external inputs. All of this sounds fancy, but what does it mean for computer intelligence or the future? In this book, you will find answers to many practical and theoretical questions related to neural networks, from insights about nodes and hidden layers to error spaces, network analyses, and computing influences.

Carl Zimmer investigates one of the biggest questions of all: What is life? The answer seems obvious until you try to seriously answer it. Is the apple sitting on your kitchen counter alive, or is only the apple tree it came from deserving of the word? If we can’t answer that question here on Earth, how will we know when and if we discover alien life on other worlds? The question hangs over some of society’s most charged conflicts - whether a fertilized egg is a living person, for example, and when we ought to declare a person legally dead.

Publisher's Summary
At first, they thought it wasn’t real, but science has discovered the truth.
When researchers found out about the growth of new neurons, it paved the way for an extensive study on the human brain and topics like short- and long-term memory, the hippocampus, Alzheimer’s disease, schizophrenia, and epilepsy. A whole array of conclusions, findings, and new theories was the result.
In this book, you will learn all about the natural growth of neurons in the adult brain. The book touches on subtopics such as:
- The definition of neurogenesis and everything that it involves
- How to stimulate the growth of new brain cells and wire them up
- The ultimate healing formula for aging minds
- Related theories and findings about Alzheimer's disease
- How the growth of new neurons improves one's memory
Think about how great it would be if you understood what stimulates the growth of your brain cells. Think about how much more you would remember or how much better your thought patterns would be.

I heard about the topic
I was curious about this topic because I had heard the term. I found this book to be an intelligent, elaborate read with several anecdotes that explain what is involved in neurogenesis. The author knows what he is talking about and the narrator does a good job. All of this has to do with the growth of brain cells and how neurons improve memory and prevent such things as Alzheimer's Disease. It's really an interesting topic, and with it being 59 minutes, it barely gets under that 6.95 dollar price point and saves me an extra 3 books. Man, am I glad it doesn't have that extra minute. Still, for a book of almost one hour, it delivers some amazing content. I highly recommend this book.

Story
Dr. Ross Greene, a distinguished clinician and pioneer in the treatment of kids with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges, has worked with thousands of explosive children, and he has good news: these kids aren't attentionseeking, manipulative, or unmotivated, and their parents aren't passive, permissive disciplinarians. Rather, explosive kids are lacking some crucial skills in the domains of flexibility/adaptability, frustration tolerance, and problem solving, and they require a different approach.

The guests range from super celebs (Jamie Foxx, Arnold Schwarzenegger, etc.) and athletes (icons of powerlifting, gymnastics, surfing, etc.) to legendary Special Operations commanders and black-market biochemists. For most of my guests, it’s the first time they’ve agreed to a two-to-three-hour interview.

Today, most doctors, dietitians, and even diabetes specialists consider type 2 diabetes to be a chronic and progressive disease - a life sentence with no possibility of parole. But the truth, as Dr. Fung reveals in this paradigm-shifting book, is that type 2 diabetes is reversible. Writing with clear, persuasive language, he explains why conventional treatments that rely on insulin or other blood-glucose-lowering drugs can actually exacerbate the problem, leading to significant weight gain and even heart disease.
