There are absolutely no details about the crime, however, nothing about who is involved, or where or when it had been committed. Miss Marple, of course is thoroughly intrigued...

Great Fun for Fans
This BBC radio play will delight anyone already familiar with the story, and would even be a good introduction to the story for a newcomer unfamiliar with this perhaps most mysterious of Miss Marple mysteries. The plot is admittedly a tad preposterous, if examined for pure plausibility: A wealthy man dies, leaving a sizeable bequest to Miss Marple if she is able to solve a mystery within one year. The catch: To solve it, she has to first figure out what the mystery is! Her only clues are to be found on the bus tour for which her mysterious benefactor has left her tickets and an itinerary. We had already seen the movie version (with the excellent Joan Hickson, Christie’s preferred Miss Marple), so I knew the plot, but this dramatization is clear enough that I don’t think I would have been confused even if I’d been new to the story. The solution to the mystery is a tad Madwoman-in-the-Attic-ish, but satisfying for Christie fans nonetheless. Grade: B+/A-

Nemesis isn't one of Christie's great books, but the dramatisation makes this a nicely creepy experience. After the death of a friend, Miss Marple receives a legacy - on condition she agrees to unravel a mystery and set right an injustice. The only problem is that she doesn't know what she's investigating. June Whitfield as always does a great job portraying the fluffy-seeming spinster with the gimlet brain.

Excellent Agatha at Her Best in Creepiness
Nemesis is one of my favourites Agatha Christie’s for TV, which I have in the Joan Hickson Miss Marple collection. There is so much visual detail in Nemesis that cannot be used on radio that is necessary to capture that “creepy Agatha atmosphere” needed to fully appreciate the intensity of this drama and because of this, so much is lost to those who have not either read the book or have not watched the TV version. Over all, this is an excellent radio production very well acted by the professional full cast and I doubt we will hear the likes of this standard again.
