Publisher's Summary

I never expected to see my first love again after he left me 12 years ago. Though I’ve moved on, working with Tyler is no easy task- especially when he focuses his bedroom eyes on me. Flirting with the past is like playing with fire, and considering I’m engaged, I’m bound to get burned.

When the man I promised to marry reveals he’s a wolf in sheep’s clothing, I run to the safety of Tyler’s strong arms. As we grow closer, so do our feelings. Threats and ultimatums are made, and the revelation of the truth is enough to bring me to my knees. I’ll do whatever it takes to protect my family, even if it means shredding my heart.

Too dangerous, too unpredictable, too risky to handle alone - we need each other now more than ever.

After our world nearly collapses, there’s nothing left to do but take it back. Tyler and I team up to destroy the people who are determined to ruin our second chance at a happily ever after. Though our love is undeniable, I just hope it’s enough. We’ll fight until the end to be together - regardless of who tries to get in our way.

Needing You Close is a slow burn, angsty second chance romance with lots of small-town Southern drama. It's book two in the Tyler & Gemma duet and must be listened to in order.

What a wild ride!

I was hooked on the first book of this duet and I loved the second! Tyler and Gemma are smoking hot. The plot twists that Kennedy Fox threw into this? Mind blowing 🤯 When the big twist was revealed, I had to hit pause just to yell “Whatttttt??!?” I can’t wait for Noah and Katie’s story. Tor and Lia were amazing and I loved having the duel narration.

Absolutely LOVE Tyler and Gemma's Story!

I absolutely love every book I've read or listen to written by Kennedy Fox and Needing You Close is no exception! I swear, with the way these ladies write all of their books, I feel like I'm there, living this life in the small town, with amazing and close family and friends and of course a HEA at the end.

After the way Keeping You Away ended, I had so many questions. I was anxiously awaiting this audiobook because I needed to know how Tyler and Gemma's story ended (I've been pretty invested in Tyler since meeting him in Always Mine and Always Yours). I started and finished this audiobook in the SAME day, I couldn't stop listening!

I love the small town romance, Tyler returning home and the slow burn/rekindling love with Gemma throughout the book. The love between Tyler and Gemma is so well written, Kennedy Fox made me feel all of the emotions throughout this book. Just when you thought Tyler and Gemma were going to get their happily ever after, there was another twist in the story, until the end which I didn't see coming but I loved so much!

Also, I really appreciate and love the time put into developing the supporting characters in each duet. After finishing Tyler and Gemma's story, just like with every other duet I've read by Kennedy Fox, I've fallen in love and am completely invested in the lead characters of the rest of the series. I can't wait to read the next 4 books in the Ex-Con series in 2021!

Absolutely Beautiful!

Another EPIC HEA 🙌🏻 Tyler & Gemma’s story took on an epic twist that I did not see coming. I loved these two so much. Tyler did not have the best life and finding love in Gemma was something he didn’t quit feel he deserved. After years of staying away he is finally home but Gemma is engaged to another (crazy psycho). Once Victoria showed her claws I knew something was going to go down.

I couldn’t read through this book fast enough. I was literally on the edge of my seat. There were so many twist I didn’t know how they were ever going to get their HEA but Kennedy Fox does NOT disappoint!! A definite MUST READ!! I CAN NOT wait for Noah & Katie’s story. I have feeling that on is going to break my heart.

Lia Langola & Tor Thom gave an excellent performance to bringing Tyler & Gemma’s story to life! Just beautiful!

Intense!

I was anxious to continue Tyler and Gemma’s story. This one was intense!
Between Tyler and his issue with Victoria and Gemma with horrible Robert, I was on the edge of my seat.
The outcome? Brilliant! Never expected the ending at all. Loved it!
This had such the perfect ending and a wild ride!

Perfect ending

I’m all about the happy endings which is why I love Kennedy Fox so much. The process to get to this ending though you’ll just never see it coming! The ups and downs keep you on the edge of your seat until the very last page. I never saw this one coming which I love and I’m so happy to finally get a finale for Tyler he absolutely is amazing and has been through so much. I’m excited to see his again in the next series of books I know he will be in there helping Gemma’s brother 💕

Amazing!

OMG.. This second book really makes the story... Love all the twists and turns. Kept me on edge the whole time to see how it played out. Adore Kennedy Fox's way of telling Tyler and Gemma's story. Really glad how certain people got what was coming to them. Love the conclusion. I like how this story also gets you interested in all the other characters so you want to read what Kennedy Fox writes next. Looking forward to the next books in the series...

Loved the tension here!!

EEEK! Needing You Close held the emotion I needed. This story held me captivated through all the twists and turns. Needing You Close was such an intense story with the slow burn I love Kennedy Fox for. I was all about Tyler and watching him get his happily ever after. Fox made Tyler work for it and he did. He did work for it and it was intense. I’m so loving all these characters. I’m deeply invested in on how Noah will get back in Katie's good grace? Can he earn it and what will Fox put them through?

Lia Langola and Tor Thom really brought Gemma and Tyler to life. The narrators really brought out the struggle, the push/pull struggle they had. I could definitely see Thom “being” Tyler. He has that real strong voice that really reminds me of a military man… I know, I’m totally being clichéd. I can’t help it. I enjoy a good strong voiced man. We can’t forget about Lia Langola now, can we. Langola brought Gemma to life so vividly. I felt her anxiety over her feelings with Tyler.

Worth the wait

The only issue I have with this author is this duets, its killing me waiting to read the next part, lol
But everything else, it just gets you hooked 😊

This conclusion to Gemma and Tyler’s story was spot on. It was filled with so much emotion and angst and don’t forget the romance. After the first part of their story I couldn’t wait for the next part. And it didn’t disappoint.

This book just made me so anxious. Having to deal with Victoria and Gemma’s ex-fiancé didn’t make this an easy journey. I wanted to hurt him so bad ☹ Lots of intrigue and manipulations and drama and scheming it just drove me mad, but it definitely made the story interesting. All in all I don’t have a complaint about this duet ended. Everything was just an amazing story.
From the drama to the supporting characters I don’t have one complaint. I am definitely a fan of these two authors

I have to say that the Lia Langola’s narration is growing on me 😊 Tor Thom is always a pleasure listening to ♥ 😊

😬😬😬😬😬

Needing You Close is the perfect conclusion to this duet! While there were some parts that seemed slow, it redeemed itself in the end I really enjoyed the story. Tyler and Gemma went through ALOT to get to where they ended up and I loved how they got there, it was completely unexpected and I didn’t see it coming. If you know, you know 😉

A good conclusion to Gemma and Tyler series

This is the conclusion to Gemma and Tyler's story and book 1 must be read first. I really enjoyed Tor Thom and Lia Langola's performances for the audiobook. They captured the elements to Tyler and Gemma's relationship that I loved so well, their playful humour, their desire for each other and the hurt they both go through.

Needing You Close showcased Gemma and Tyler's relationship developing into a friendship and more as their old feelings for each other strengthened. There were plenty of moments that made me smile and the chemistry was clear to see as they began to open up to the idea that they are meant to be together, and as Gemma realised Robert is not the man for her. Of course there is plenty of drama to go alongside the romance, Robert is more manipulative than I ever expected him to be. With Tyler knowing Victoria is back and set to make his life hell all over again and Robert doing his best to keep Gemma on a tight leash I didn't know how they would get out of this one together. Needless to say I was thrilled with how the ending turned out, as I listened I no doubt had a smug grin on my face as each character got their comeuppance.

My Thoughts on Needing You Close

Part two of this duet was well worth the wait. It was thrilling and had lots of unexpected moments. But my favorite part of course was Tyler and Gemma making an attempt to truly rekindle their relationship. Things took such a turn with Robert and I felt tense whenever he was even mentioned as the story went on. But that was just one aspect that I liked about the story. I liked how Tyler and Gemma spent time together not just in a physical sense so it really felt like they built their relationship back up instead of just jumping back into bed and calling it a done deal that they were together. And then things kept getting so crazy and I wasn’t sure from one moment to the next what was going to happen, I just knew I was enjoying the journey. After all was said and done, I was once again reminded why I’ve been listening to any Kennedy Fox book I could get my hands on because they are great story tellers.
I also must mention how much I loved the voices they got to tell the story this time. Tor Thom and Lia Langola came back for this performance and once again did a fantastic job. I loved not only Tor’s deep growly voice for Tyler but also the emotion and passion and energy both Lia brought to Gemma. This duet is a must listen to kind of story.

Wonderful conclusion to the duet

Back in the world of small town romances with a twist, back with Gemma and Tyler – finally! I’ve loved this world centering on ex-cons finding their second chances from the start, but I’ve loved its characters even more. I was fully invested in everything Gemma and Tyler, rooting for them to find happiness with each other. And while their ride wasn’t as wild and angst filled as other Kennedy Fox stories, I was engrossed from beginning to end. These two might just have stolen my heart with their well-written, slowly building love story that started so many moons ago. Sigh.

Multilayered, multidimensional characters, deeply emotional plots – that’s what I’ve come to love and expected from books by this author duo. Their characters always feel believable, relatable and real, like I could meet them in real life and actually become friends with them – and I adore that!

You might always know the outcome, the end result of a book like this one, but you’ll never be able to predict the bumps and roadblocks, the twists and turns to overcome for the couple to get there. There was actually a point in this book I began doubting if Tyler would really get his girl. That’s the kind of romance I live for and the reason while I’ll always come back for more from this particular author.

Tor Thom and Lia Langola did an amazing job adding another layer to this story, enhancing the emotions even further with their voices.

Excellent

I love second chance stories and this was no exception. The perfect second part of the duet, great chemistry and flow to the story. I did not expect the surprise so bravo. Tyler was still amazing as ever and a great teaser for the next duet. The narration was excellent, which isn't unexpected from these two pros - great choices.

Tyler & Gemma

This is the conclusion of Keeping you Away and while I loved the story, the first book is still my favorite.

I was glad the authors didn't go into the drama with Victoria, I was afraid it would happen when I finished listening the first book. Kudos for dodging the predictability and going into another direction: the abusive fiancée. I did not see it coming. This story is OTT, but I felt the way things were described was very good so I didn't feel it was too much. Both characters and motivations are believable, they were likable and cute together.

The narration duo is amazing, love both narrators and they were a good choice for this story!

Tyler and Gemma!

Seeing the evolution of Gemma’s character as the story unfolds from the woman who would do anything her fiancé asked to the strong, independent woman she became was great to see. She has realized that Tyler is the man who has always owned her heart however Robert is not about to just let her walk out of his life.

If battling Robert wasn’t enough for this couple to deal with someone from Tyler’s past is also interfering in their life. He will do anything to protect Gemma so that they can have the life they were meant to live but only time will tell if that is enough.

The characters are captivating, the storyline draws you in and has you invested in their happy ever after, the chemistry between them is intense. Gemma and Tyler’s journey is a story you don’t want to miss and the narrators did a great job with the angst and heat of the story.

Cannot be read as standalone

Man this duet really took me on an adventure. I love this duo's writing style so much and I get totally immersed in any world they give me. This book picks up right where Keeping You Away left off and there is still many a threat to the happiness and the lives of Tyler and Gemma. I just love how Tyler and Gemma leaned on each other and their friend groups were top tier. Lia Langola is a delight as always and Tor Thom really brought Tyler to life and they were as always a dream to listen to. I volunteered to listen and review a complimentary copy of this. All opinions

I cannot wait for the next duet. It's gonna be ANGSTY.
