Publisher's summary

Detective Superintendent Roy Grace faces his most mysterious case yet in the gripping crime novel Need You Dead, by award winning author Peter James.

Lorna Belling, desperate to escape the marriage from hell, falls for the charms of a man who promises her the earth. But, as Lorna soon finds, life seldom follows the plans you’ve made.

When the body of a woman is found, Grace is called to the scene. At first it looks an open-and shut case with a clear prime suspect. That is, until Grace realizes there is a darker, far more terrifying alternative . .

Although the Roy Grace novels can be listened to in any order, Need You Dead is the thirteenth title in the bestselling series. Enjoy more of the Brighton detective’s investigations with Dead if You Don’t and Dead at First Sight.

Now a major ITV series, Grace, starring John Simm.

Marvelous

Peter James never disappoints. Weyman's narration is superb. Finishing this book left me hungry for the next, as always.

Always a good tale!

I like Roy Grace. That's it. He is believable! And I am foiled with dread waiting to see what his son does next!

Brilliant.

Love the narrator Daniel Weyman. Have heard him before in the Roy Grace series and he does make it an enjoyable experience.

FOUR+

Very good series with this newest book satisfying the fans of present day British police procedurals: plodding coppers, high speed car chases, high tech crime fighting tools and no tech but highly evolved people readers. I am a big fan of this author's work.

A bit wordy

But a great tale. I like the frequency of the chapters which sometimes adds to the suspense. Charactisation all helps hold one’s interest.

Compelling!

My favourite detective delivered again! I loved this book! The degrees of separation theme always fascinates me.

I want to make special mention to the narrator. By far the most enjoyable audible performer I have listened to.

Thanks again!

Consummate police procedural

I’ve read one Roy Grace book, but this narration necessitates Audible “listens” from now on! It was absolutely amazing. The plot was intricate and oh-so-clever. Both the personal and professional dimensions of Grace’s life stay with you long after the last line.
