Jake Tiptree has a problem. A coven of self-styled witches has taken over her Eastport, Maine, waterfront rental property for Halloween - and their repair requests are annoyingly frequent. But while Jake is normally game to take on any fixer-upper challenge, she'd rather be tackling her own needed repairs on her 1823 Federal-style home.

Until, that is, preacher Gene Dibble turns up dead - and the whole town is convinced that Jake and her tenants are up to sorcery and skullduggery. While the witches are complaining about ghostly moaning and her neighbors are chewing their nails, it's up to Jake to pry out the identity of the real culprit - before the killer nails her.

Loved this one. It was different than the rest but the ending made the entire book!

Best one yet!

I like this series. There really isn't anything bad to say about this installment of this series. Sarah Graves weaves an interesting tail that puts Jake into trouble that only she can get out of. As always, Lindsay Ellison does a fantastic job as Jake. In my opinion, she is Jake Tiptree. I have read all of the books in this series and will read the next one as well.

Still good

They just get better and better. I so enjoy the these stories. I believe the narrators voices are perfect.

I have enjoyed all these books but this one has secretive topics and as much as Victor annoyed me why why kill off a brain surgeon genius prodigy of a brain tumor! I'm disappointed. Life is real enough you listen to hear funny sarcastic idiotic stories not about molesting, drugs, teen drug struggles and and cancer... Death of a parent of main character. Nothing up lifting

Bad ending sensitive topics

This is one of my favorite series and this book had a few surprises I didn’t expect.

Another Great story

I'm not giving anything away, but I will say this book had a great tight plot and wonderful characters too. and it was cool to meet Wanda! I hope she returns.

Really, really good.

I don’t normally read a lot of mysteries, but I’m binging this whole series. I love the character development, with a handful of close friends/family that carry through from book to book. There is also humor - and some really good DIY “tips.”

The narrator is staggeringly good. She’s great with the Maine accent and is convincing while fluidly transitioning from female to male and old to young!

Very good read! Be sure to start from the series beginning - not necessary, but worth doing.

Really engaging mystery series
