Critic reviews

“This classic Agatha Christie whodunit is brought to life with style by narrator James Warwick... Warwick's characterization of Poirot is spot-on. The interview between publisher and narrator at the end of the audiobook brings additional insight to the listener.” K.J.P. © AudioFile 2017, Portland, Maine [Published: JUNE 2017]

Totally authentic, delightful narration

What made the experience of listening to Mysterious Affair at Styles, with a Bonus Interview! the most enjoyable?

James Warwick, is superb - he does about fifty characters and sounds like you imagine Hastings would sound - and also the interview at the end between James Warwick and Alison Larkin is fantastic.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes! It's an exciting story!

Which character – as performed by James Warwick – was your favorite?

Hastings I think. He is the narrator of the story and it's like it's really him talking.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Hercule Poirot - The Beginning.

Any additional comments?

It's so good. I also really loved Alison Larkin's narration of The Secret Adversary also and as James Warwick starred in the t.v. version of The Secret Adversary with Francesca Annis it was such a treat to hear them talking at the end. Just wonderful entertainment.

Christie and Poirot. A marvelous duo.

Excellent Agatha Christie book. A complex plot, Twists and turns to intrigue and a rollicking finale. The bonus interview was extremely interesting.Well done!
