Publisher's Summary

Stacy Justice is a young reporter who lives in Chicago, far away from the kooky small town of Amethyst, Illinois, where she was raised by a family of witches. She's perfectly content with her career, her cat, and her lack of a love life until her cousin informs her that their grandfather is deathly ill. Stacy road-trips home only to discover that her grandfather was poisoned, her grandmother has confessed to the crime, and there's a new chief in town who is easy on the eyes, but tough on witches.

Now, the reluctant witch must prove her grandmother's innocence, save her grandfather from meeting an untimely end, and fight the killer who's bent on destroying them all.

This is the prequel novel to the Stacy Justice Witch Mysteries - where secrets only lead to more secrets and being the member of a family means that you make sacrifices that can lead to murder.

    "witches and more witches"

This was the first one i read by this author. I look forward to reading more in this series. I found the story line and the characters interesting. Stacy comes to check on her grandfather and finds out he was poisoned. Her grandmother confesses. Follow Stacy as she tries to find out who really did it or is her grandmother telling the truth.

    "Big Mistake"
What would have made Witch Way to Amethyst: The Prequel better?

Large sections of this book came verbatim from other books in the series. In addition, Stacy "learns" things in this book that come as complete surprises to her in later books.

What could Barbra Annino have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Writing a prequel after the fact is difficult. There appears to have been no effort put into crafting this book to fit into the remainder of the series.

Have you listened to any of Erin Fossa’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    The performance was good.

    "Delightfully Entertaining Witchy Story"
Where does Witch Way to Amethyst: The Prequel rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This book ranks as a 5 in my 1 to 10 ranking. I will definitely add it to my list of authors I will follow.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Intrigue and action are the by words of this Witchy thriller. You think you have it all figured out when someone sticks a needle in your arm or three young men think you need to be with them for a good time.

What about Erin Fossa’s performance did you like?

She kept up the rhythm nicely. I enjoyed listening to her.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Not Harry Potter but more adult action, so maybe you can go home.

    Any additional comments?

Excellent number zero in a series leaves you with where is Mom, who will she be dating, how will she enjoy working at the newspaper, what kind of trouble will the grandparents and relatives get her into, and what about the dog and cat.

    "The narrator is different"

This narrator was different than the other Stacey Justice books. The voices weren't as Strong . She made the characters sound wimpy. I miss Amy Rubinate but the story was great as usual.
