Publisher's summary

Sent to rescue a man called Grampa Ned from an out-of-control wildfire on the Southern Ute Reservation, Jamaica is surprised to find a severely burned firefighter separated from his crew in the forest - but no Ned. The wounded man mutters something cryptic to her, and she's left with more questions than answers. Now with the wildfire still raging, threatening the countryside and jeopardizing a sacred Indian tribal ritual, Jamaica must discover what happened to Ned and what the lone fireman was trying desperately to protect.

An intriguing tale of murder and conspiracy, Wild Inferno will satisfy listeners'craving for outdoors mystery in the vein of Nevada Barr's Anna Pigeon novels.

Wild Inferno

This is the first book in this series. Jamaica works for the wildlife land management. Starting out there is a big forest fire and she is suppose to find an old Indian Grandpa Ned. He got lost in the forest fire. It continues to have a great storyline. This is a mystery with a western feel to it. I don't give a lot of five stars it has to be an extremely great story. This is a five star in my opinion. I will definitely continue this series. There is three books about Jamaica Wild. Therese Plummer does a great job narrating this book.
