The Cancer Ward Saint part III

I’m pretty sure this was an antiTrump novel disguised as a vigilante story. I enjoyed the actual story but the anticonservative angle was a bit much. I get that Brand was the antagonist and was a really awful individual but it felt like I was listening to everyone’s Facebook posts during the 2016 election. The rhetoric was masked as over the top extremes but I wish it was a lot less political. Brand could have been evil without all of the commentary.
The plot itself was fairly decent and I think it was a fitting ending for the trilogy. This one was a slow wind down which fit Tommy’s condition and life. Wished the Sensei was still around in this volume, glad we were at least updated on him. Tara’s role was fitting and even though she isn’t a sidekick like Moses or the Sensei I really liked her. I thought her character fit the mood of the story perfectly.
Overall I think this story had the best dialogue out of the three. There were some times were I thought the dialogue was a little weak, especially between Tommy and Tara, but overall a noticed improvement.
I think the narration in this story was the best of the three. I liked how he voiced Tommy as the cancer was taking over and he was getting weaker and weaker. The transition in tone for the voice of Tara worked for me as well.
