Publisher's summary

There's always one more grave to dig.

Lately, life has been unnaturally calm for vampires Cat Crawfield and her husband, Bones. They should have known better than to relax their guard, because a shocking revelation sends them back into action to stop an all-out war.…

A rogue CIA agent is involved in horrifying secret activities that threaten to raise tensions between humans and the undead to dangerous heights. Now Cat and Bones are in a race against time to save their friends from a fate worse than death…because the more secrets they unravel, the deadlier the consequences. And if they fail, their lives - and those of everyone they hold dear - will be hovering on the edge of the grave.

Missed Kat and Bones

There is a new addition that I would have never thought of! Please, please let there be more of this series coming soon, It can't wait as long as we did for this installment for the next. Tavia's narration is second to none and she really brings this book to life compared to another populare series; the Black Dagger Brotherhood which I don't really like but everyone else seem to love, maybe it me but I think it's the BDB's narrator (I think he's just awful, I think Robert Petkoff would have done the series justice). This series is simply amazing, for me this is the best series I've listened to and would recommend it to anyone. Everyone I've suggested this series to couldn't believe how well written and read it is. The twists, turns and tie-ins between the other books are handled so well I would like the opportunity to meet Ms. Frost just to pick her brain. If you like the Night Huntress series, You will not be disappointed with this book.

THE END OF AN EPIC SAGA

Well it's pretty much all been said before so all I can add is a BIG thank you to Jeaniene Frost for giving her fans such a brilliant, witty, action-packed story that was full of drama, loveable characters, surprises and, as Cat and Bones sail away into the sunset together, finally a joyous HEA is awaiting them. I will miss these two special characters that have given me many hours of listening pleasure.

Also, thank you Tavia Gilbert for your skilled narration, you breathed life, soul and emotion into Cat and Bones and also the many characters that crossed paths with them.

Worth a credit? I stand clapping and shouting ENCORE ENCORE but I will just have to face the fact that the final curtain has fallen on this particular act. Hell YES worth ALL the credits, ALL the sleepless nights and ALL the many take-outs when I was just too engrossed in the plot to cook.

OMG--Can this series get any better? You Bet!

I first discovered this series on a sale! It was one of the best deals I got. I immediately bought the rest of the series up to book six. When I saw this in pre-order--it was a hands-down buy! I eagerly awaited the book. It seems the Gods were with me since I had a snow day today. I listened to this book all day. And I could not stop listening!

I kept wondering how Cat and Bones were going to deal with the new director. The ending for the director was a bit of a let down. However the other enemies they have to fight are richly rewarded. We learn why Uncle Don is still around and we have a visit or three with Marie LeVeau and a further link between Cat and Tate. As usual, when Cat and Bones need to solve a problem, they have different views on how to do it. Bones does not let Cat in on the "real" plan while pretending to give her the impression she has her way. We also see why Bones and Ian are friends. Ian is soooo misunderstood--still promiscuous--but sooo misunderstood.

I was as heartbroken as I was elated throughout this book. Each chapter in Cat and Bone's life just keeps getting better. As always Ms. Frost’s blends, death-defying action, intense emotional scenes, and hot-hot-hot intimacy. I only wish the series did not have to end. By the by, if you have not read the short "Home for the Holidays" or Vlad's series, you will be confused by some references and the timeline.

Other than that, I don't know how to explain more without giving away spoilers. I just know that this is one of my favorite in the series. It is a must read if you love Cat and Bones and their antics. I am already starting my second listen! Enjoy!

Never Expected This!!!!

I give this the book over 5 stars, it deserves it. Jeaniene Frost did an amazing job.

A fantastic addition to a fantastic series.... I have never even thought of such a plot in this series... I was speechless during this book, couldn't believe the things that happened, and couldn't believe its ending....

This isn't the usual book of a mission and and ending.. its packed with life changing events.. This means that the next book will be a new, fresh, and exciting book!!

Narration is great as always..

A Spectaculous Ending to a Totally Perfect series

Any additional comments?

I Stayed up all night, I was so excited to get this book and get listening.....

With some fun reveals, one that’s very surprising and ultimately a bit frustrating, Cat and Bones end their adventures with a bang. I started Up From the Grave with a bit of sadness knowing that this was it, the last book in this amazing series. Cat and Bones have been a fun fixture in my reading life for years and it’s always sad to say goodbye.

The story starts with Cat learning that her old team of Tate, Juan, Dave and Cooper, have been missing for weeks and Cat’s ghostly uncle Don fears that Madigan (evil leader, that’s all I ever refer to him as) has them and if that’s the case, they’re as good as dead. Cat won’t just leave them in Madigan’s hands so she and Bones start to follow leads to figure out where the guys are and this leads to some very disturbing revelations about what, exactly, Madigan has been researching all these years. He’s been one of the master minds behind some dangerous genetic testing that goes all the way back to the days Cat was working for her Uncle and leading her team. What they currently find is that the testing was successful and has resulted in a 7 year old girl, who is a vampire/ghoul hybrid and threatens to start a war between the groups. Cat and Bones need to rescue her old team, find the little girl and figure out who the main person is above Madigan that’s been funding and backing this research. The answer proves to be a dangerous one for Cat and her friends along with a huge reveal that revolves around the young girl, Katie.

The action is everything fans of this series have come to expect. Many past characters are nicely woven into the story and plot and all play pivotal roles, especially Denise and my personal favorite Ian. It was nice to see them all interact together for one last hurrah and they ended up needing everyone’s abilities to take on the book’s big bad. There are deaths, deceptions, lots of violence – it’s action packed and exciting.

I love seeing the progression of Cat and Bones relationship. They’re not perfect, but they’ve both grown together so much that just as Cat believes, they really can weather anything together. While we do get some sexy moments between them, personally I wanted something more. I can’t say that anything specifically was missing it was just for the last time we’re going to see this couple on page, As you may be able to tell, I'm having trouble letting go of this series lol......

It was bittersweet listening to the last page of this book. Cat and Bones and their lives and the many adventures they've taken me on will always hold a special place for me. I finished this book and felt like, yes, their story is complete.............. Ending this review On a very positive note (just trying to tell my brain this) - I can re-listen to the series as often as I like. YA :))

Beautiful ending to the Night Huntress series

I listened to this book straight through with no breaks, I couldn't tear myself away from it. I can't imagine a more perfect ending to the series. This book was full of action, humor, sarcasm, & a whirlwind of emotions. I was so excited to see there was an extra addition to the Night Huntress family as well. We also get all our questions from the last book answered in this one. I couldn't have hoped for a better ending to the series. I will most definitely miss Cat & Bones but hopefully J. Frost will grace us with novellas and side character books.
Tavia, as always, does an amazing job narrating this series. She never disappoints.
I recommend this series to anyone who likes para/rom with a side of kick butt female, and a hot, sexy male lead to go along with her.
This is the series that got me hooked on audiobooks, hopefully you'll give this series a try, it's so worth it.
HAPPY LISTENING!!!

Unhappy

I am sad. I was not really expecting to love this book, since I was equally disappointed with the last two installments. However, being the series finale, I was hopeful. My issue was mainly with the story, as the narration was very well done, as always, with one exception. The voice of Bones was slighlty different to my ears, and I found that annoying. The Night Huntress Series was one of my first forays into UF, and I fell head over heels with Cat, Bones and the rest of the characters in the Night Huntress World. I loved their sarcastic wit, their personal conflicts, their steamy scenes, their butt-kicking action. I loved them all, and it was easy to do. Now, I feel like the romance is over for us. This story felt forced. I think that sums it up. I was not upset about the big surprise this book revealed, I just wasn't emotionally invested enough to care at that point. I wanted to love this last book, but I found myself muttering under my breath at several points in the story. Several things were taken from previous books and "refried" for use in this one. Well, I will miss Cat and Bones. I can only hope that some of the other characters will show up in their own Night Huntress World books.

I've heard this story before...

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I am not sure. I loved The Night Huntress Series due to its originality. This story had the same story line as 'Underworld: Awakening"... The fact that this is the last book in the series does not make sense... the ending feels incomplete, like the author just ran out of ideas so decided to end it with book 7. I am disappointed with this one. Once again, weird similarity to a Vampire movie in the Underworld movie series.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

The most interesting was the experimentation on subject A80. The least was that Cat and Bones were boring as so predictable.

Have you listened to any of Tavia Gilbert’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Just as good. She always does a great job.

Was Up from the Grave worth the listening time?

It was as it was a little over 8hrs and not longer, yet not an original story... very disappointing.

Any additional comments?

The series ending now is very disappointing and does not make sense. Soooo many unanswered questions at the end of this book. Sad.

Great book but the voice for Bones is slightly off

Would you listen to Up from the Grave again? Why?

Yes, this entire series was great, the story shifted and stayed interesting. The story was sexy, action packed, and I couldn't get enough.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Most definitely.

Any additional comments?

I was disappointed that Bones' accent was slightly different in this book...in the previous books and this one was slightly off, similar to Ian which threw me off completely. It just didn't come off as the same Bones I've come to love. :(
