Move over James Bond - you've just met your match!

Hays Baker and his wife, Lizbeth, possess super-human strength, exceptional intelligence, stunning looks, a sex life to die for, and two beautiful children. Of course they do - they're Elites, endowed at birth with the most advanced genetic enhancements available. Elites are the pinnacle of evolution; the triumph of man's ambitions. The only problem in their perfect world are the humans! And their toys!

Now comes the most unbelievable shock of Hays Baker's life. Suddenly he's on the other side of the gun, experiencing a life he'd never dreamed possible - and fighting to save humans everywhere from extinction. And not only that. Hays and Lizbeth just might lose their perfect family.

James Patterson's Toys is a thriller on a hyper plane, with a hero to rival both Bond and Jason Bourne.

OMG - What a crappy book!

This abomination of a book is a horrible disappointment to loyal James Patterson fans. Not just the departure to an absurd fantasy and sci-fi tale, but a horrible entry into that genre. An invincible hero, who withstands furious fusilades of laser fire with Superman somersaults and agility, but a stupid plot. Save your money or credits. This book is a waste of time and resources. It is not worthy of the single star, which is as low a rating as I could give it.

Sound effects were good

The best part of this book was the music and sound effect bumpers. Does that tell you what you need to know?

Normally, I too am a Patterson fan, but this was really terrible. And the worst part is that there are obviously plans to turn this into a series that I will definitely be boycotting.

Wow..surprisingly bad

As a James Patterson fan I was extremely disappointed that he would put his name on this book. It's an inane story that isn't remotely believable and barely interesting. However, the narration was good (given the material he had to work with).

Just a very small OK

Even if the storyline had some potential, but soon after the beginning, it falls apart. The main character is uninteresting and the plot is FULL of holes. There is also all the ingredients for the usual we are good as human and they are bad. We are good because... we are good... The second half of the book was, simply put, awful... Poorly written and completely unbelievable. Sorry mr. Patterson. May be ok for kids of 10 and younger...

A Good and Easy Listen!

Even though this story is different for a Patterson novel and runs along the Sci-Fi category, I really liked it! I thought the narrator really did a good job. All in all I thought this one was a good and entertaining thriller.

Awful

Just plain awful. I wonder if Patterson even read it before he put his name on it.

NOT James Patterson

I made a big mistake here and did not read the synopsis of this book. I"ve never read anything by James Patterson that I didn't like, particularly his Alex Cross books. He has given me much pleasure of reading in the past. Not so with this book. It is a Sci Fi mystery. I finished it only because I always feel the need to do that but I did not like it. I do not read Sci Fi and never will. Those that are fans of Sci Fi will probably like this. I did not. I like things realistic to today and not a hundred years from now. If you like all of the things James Patterson has done in the past, then do not buy it. It was totally disappointing and should have known better when paired with another writer. Stay with what you are good at, James. This is not you and certainly is not me.

Good Sci-Fi Book

I really enjoyed listening to this book. It was fast paced and I liked the futuristic Sci-Fi part of the book.

Toys

I could not get comfortable with this book, story line and the manner in which it was read. I'm going to put it away for awhile and see if I feel differently later.

Incredible Read

Almost killed myself listening to this book by Patterson.. Listen on my Ipod going to and from Cincinnati -- got so zoned out listening to it that I almost went off the road.

Highly recommend this book!
