Publisher's Summary

This is my family: Vanished without a trace....

Justin and Libby Denbe have the kind of life you’d find in the pages of a glossy magazine: A beautiful 14-year-old daughter. A gorgeous brownstone on a tree-lined street in Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood. A great marriage, admired by all. A perfect life.

This is what I know: Pain has a flavor....

When investigator Tessa Leone arrives at the crime scene in the foyer of the Denbes’ home, she finds scuff marks on the floor and a million tiny pieces of bright green Taser confetti. The family appears to have been abducted, with only a pile of their cell phones and electronic devices remaining. No witnesses, no ransom demands, no motive. Just a perfect little family, gone.

This is what I fear: The worst is yet to come....

Tessa knows better than anyone that flawless fronts can hide the darkest secrets. Now she must race against the clock to uncover the Denbes’ innermost dealings, a complex tangle of friendships and betrayal, big business and small sacrifices. Who would want to kidnap such a perfect little family? And how far would such a person be willing to go?

This is the truth: Love, safety, family . . . it’s all touch and go.

Wow! What a fantastic listen!

I don't typically read books in the mystery/thriller genre but this one was on sale and recommended by a friend (the same person that convinced me to read Gone Girl). All I can say is WOW! This had me hooked from the very first chapter and I could not put it down! There were so many twists and turns and shocking moments to this story. I loved it. I can usually figure out the "whodunit" in most books but this one had me almost until the very end.

This was my first Lisa Gardner novel but it definitely will not be my last.

A slow start with a surprising plot twist!

Though Lisa Gardner is definitely one of my favorite crime novelists, this novel is not on my favorites list. It had a very slow start, and I actually started the novel twice before finishing it. I was drawn in later, but I would never say captivated.

The performance was very good, with voices artfully represented.

For those looking for an absolutely thrilling Lisa Gardner novel, Catch Me is the one for you!

A true page tuner

The final three chapters kept me driving for an additional hour.
The ending caught me by surprise and in places had me grasping with fear.
I love it!!

Not up to her standard

I have found Lisa Gardner's books to be well written and enjoyable stories. This book struck me as having been by an adolescent. So many of the conversations conducted by a family being held hostage were insipid. Her stories are always well woven and smart, but I knew "who done it" here early on. I'm hoping this is Ms Gardner's only misstep. I really like her work.

Pain does have a flavor!

Touch and go starts off as a husband and wife settled in their marriage. They are just going through the motions every day. So much so that they have to plan a date night so they can try to rekindle that old fire. Everybody's excited about date night that is until they come home and find that their world has been turned upside down. Intruders are here to take what they want but what is it exactly that they want. And even more who would send these people here. I guess you why have to listen to this classic whodunit to find out what happens. I would definitely recommend this book. It was a wild ride ups and downs. Everyone's a suspect.

Enjoyable

The story keeps the listeners attention, has a good twist in the end although somewhat predictable. Still a pretty good story.

Author cops out in end.

This was a fairly good till end, where the author cops out and goes with a "typical" conclusion where everything has to be wrapped up in a neat package. I guessed how it would end and the major plot line halfway through the book because the author tries so hard to divert the readers attention from the true suspect. Good listen on average but not much suspense. I like to listen to books that keep me guessing outcome. If you like the genre and can't guess outcome early on then you will enjoy it.
