Publisher's summary

He left in handcuffs. Now it's time to set himself free.

Nearly 20 years after he was wrongly convicted of setting the fire that killed his father, Lincoln Fox returns to Rebel Ridge, Kentucky. There, deep in the Appalachians, the truth of that terrible night lies buried - and he's sworn to uncover it.

His plans take an unexpected turn when, in the midst of a blizzard, he rescues Meg Walker from her wrecked car. Suddenly Linc discovers another reason to clear his name. Meg, his high school sweetheart, had always believed in his innocence, and if he wants a future with her, he has to show the world proof that she was right.

As the community chooses sides, those who once let a teenage boy take the fall for their crime are forced to raise the stakes. They kidnap Meg, leaving her to the mercy of the mountain. And a second rescue may be more than even Linc can manage....

An okay listen

The story of Linc and Meg was fairly good.
The narrator's voice was soothing and her performance was engaging.
The continual eyes welling and flowing tears was nerve wracking. I have no problem with characters showing emotion and it wasn't a deal breaker overall. However, after the fourth time Meg's/Dolly's/ or whoever's eyes welled, my own eyes were rolling in annoyance.
Regardless, I will continue to read or listen to Sharon Sala's work because her stories are interesting enough to keep me coming back.

One that you will want to read more than once!

What did you like about this audiobook?

Good characters and good story, very believable.

How has the book increased your interest in the subject matter?

The rescue at the cliff.

Does the author present information in a way that is interesting and insightful, and if so, how does he achieve this?

That is a toss up. Linc 's physical attributes and acts of kindness, Meg's wonderful family, made me wish they lived next door.

What did you find wrong about the narrator's performance?

When Meg & Linc realized all the years apart weren't important.

Do you have any additional comments?

This was a fantastic ending to the trilogy. Don't Cry For Me & Next of Kin, Sharon Sala's first 2 books were so good that I didn't think she could equal them. The only thing wrong is that I wish she would write more books about Rebel Ridge. I love her close family theme.
If you haven't tried this author & narrator, you're missing out, big time.
