Publisher's summary

FBI Agent Pendergast has taken Constance on a whirlwind Grand Tour, hoping to give her closure and a sense of the world that she's missed. They head to Tibet, where Pendergast intensively trained in martial arts and spiritual studies. At a remote monastery, they learn that a rare and dangerous artifact the monks have been guarding for generations has been mysteriously stolen. Pendergast agrees to take up the search.

The trail leads him and Constance to the maiden voyage of the Queen Victoria, the world's largest and most luxurious passenger liner - and to an Atlantic crossing fraught with terror.

Investigate more of Agent Pendergast's cases.

The Wheel of Darkness shines Bright!

The Preston/Douglas team, write the kind of novels you can't put down. Partly due to the fact that, they write from factual historical and well researched information. I deeply enjoy getting myself lost in one of their books. Wheel of Darkness was a great story about good and evil. I was inspired, astounded and totally captured by every word. This book's story took me into a whole new world I'd only read about on the internet and seen on Nationa Geographic. I enjoy the ever continuing storyline, which follows agent Pendergast's like experiences and adventures. I do hope that like with Relic, The Wheel of Darkness makes it to the big screen someday. In my head I have modern actors/actresses of today that I know would be perfect for the part of the characters in this novel. I have explored and experienced schools of thoughts, while reading Wheel of Darkness, that I'd never entertained before. It was a unique journey and very entertaining. It has been enlightening and continues to open my literary mind to worlds I've only dreamed about. I strongly recommend any Douglas/Preston novel. It is a read that will change your reading experience for the better. I won't give away any details of this book. All I can say is try something different, you'll surprise yourself.

Not a typical Pendergast story

Maybe because it was an abridgment or there was too much mysticism, but this did not live up to what I had come to expect of a Preston and Child Pendergast story

Don't get abridged version<br />

I love the Pendergast novels. Unfortunately ,BY MISTAKE, somehow got the abridged verson. Some of the transitions were abrupt and didn'T make sense... total bummer.

Not bad, gets a bit far fetched.

What did you love best about The Wheel of Darkness?

A X L Pendergast, and the Narrator. It moves along quite well.

Would you recommend The Wheel of Darkness to your friends? Why or why not?

Yes, as long as they were Pendergast fans.

What does Rene Auberjonois bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Always good to listen to, he pulls you into the story.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Hmm, I don't think I would make a film about this book, I think it might not do so well at the box office.

Any additional comments?

The authors tend to wander a bit far into the spiritual realms for my taste. I liked that Pendergast was always a very logical chap and was a bit disappointed with his mystical straying s. Still a good listen though.

Don't Bother with the abridged version.

The abriged version of this audiobook leaves so much to be desired, it is not worth wasting a credit on it. Get the unabridged version much better.
