Publisher's summary

Sergeant Amy Callan and Lieutenant Caroline Cook have a lot in common. Both were army high-flyers.Both were acquainted with Jack Reacher. Both were forced to resign from the service.

Now they're both dead.

Both were found in their own home, naked, in a bath full of paint. Both were apparent victims of an army man - a loner, a smart guy with a score to settle, a ruthless vigilante.

A man just like Jack Reacher.

Not up to the standard

I've practically read all of the Reacher books and I am sorry to say this one is a disappointment. The narration feels rushed (especially compared too Dick Hill's trademark delivery), the storyline compressed and none of the traditional Reacher features; no "Reacher said nothing", no colossal left hook, none of the americana-inspired anachronistic surroundings, no revisiting of Reacher's MP background.

I guess I'll just re-read one of the Reacher classics and pretend this one never happened.
