Publisher's summary

In a nondescript office building in suburban Maryland, the firm Hendley Associates does a profitable business in stocks, bonds, and international currencies, but its true mission is quite different: to identify and locate terrorist threats, and then deal with them, in whatever manner necessary. Established with the knowledge of President John Patrick Ryan, "the Campus" is always on the lookout for promising new talent, its recruiters scattered throughout the armed forces and government agencies - and three men are about to cross its radar.

The first is Dominic Caruso, a rookie FBI agent, barely a year out of Quantico, whose decisive actions resolve a particularly brutal kidnap/murder case. The second is Caruso's brother, Brian, a Marine captain just back from his first combat action in Afghanistan, and already a man to watch. And the third is their cousin...a young man named Jack Ryan, Jr.

Jack was raised on intrigue. As his father moved through the ranks of the CIA and then into the White House, Jack received a life course in the world and the way it operates from agents, statesmen, analysts, Secret Service men, and black ops specialists such as John Clark and Ding Chavez. He wants to put it all to work now, but when he knocks on the front door of "the Campus," he finds that nothing has prepared him for what he is about to encounter. For it is indeed a different world out there - and in here. And it is about to become far more dangerous.

The Teeth of the tiger

Clancey keeps us moving all the time. This novel in right on the money
for being current. Would make a great mini series if we could watch it all. Clancey has the excitement from start to finish

Classic Clancy

A very good tale about combatting terrorism. It would be great if we could engage in this type of warfare. Keeps you on the edge.

Worst of the series

This is by far the slowest and least interesting of the whole series. It does set up characters if you are reading through the entire Clancy series.

Great with some technical errors

Great story but some sentences were repeated when they recorded it for the audio version.

Great Clancy book formula

Great book with equal parts action and intellect. Always enough going on that you may don't want to put it down.

Great book

The story was great, I enjoyed it very much.
There were a few spots that had a weird repeat of the same line twice. Overall that only happened four or five times. It seemed like when they where recording the track they forgot where they stopped or missed the overlap in editing. The narrators performance was good though.

Transitions and ending

Transitions requires full attention. Something that can be easily missed mind wandering over dull details or not. Had this been paper, it would be in two because of the ending: steal cover or not!. Or not!

Excellent Narrator, poor editing

The story is fine, but nothing to write home about. The narrator was excellent, submitting more acting than the average narrator. The editing, however, had many duplicate sound bites. There was at least 8 if not more repeated audio sections, to the point where I would focus on how frequent it was and was distracted from the story. The audio needs to be cleaned up.
