Publisher's Summary

Treasure-hunting team Sam and Remi Fargo's search for a Romanov fortune brings them into perilous contact with an ambitious neo-Nazi clan in the thrilling adventure from the number one New York Times best-selling author.

In 1918, a ransom of enormous size was paid to free the Romanovs from the Bolsheviks, but, as history knows, the Romanovs died anyway. And the ransom? During World War II, the Nazis stole it from the Russians, and after that - it vanished. Until now.

When a modern-day kidnapping captures the attention of husband-and-wife team Sam and Remi Fargo, the couple soon learn that these long-lost riches may be back in play, held in trust by the descendants of a Nazi guerrilla faction called the Werewolves. It is their mission to establish the Fourth Reich, and their time is coming soon.

As the Fargos follow the trail across Europe, Northern Africa, and South America, they know only one thing. This quest is greater than anything they have ever done - it is their chance to make someone answer for unspeakable crimes and to prevent them from happening again.

Good not great

The narrator is the best in the business! The story is a cookie cutter format of the other Remie books in the past! Cannot continue or will lose fans!
The book is entertaining but too much like all the rest! Change the counties and treasure— you have a new book!
Moving on from this series!

The Amber Room!

action-adventure, nazis, tsars, spies, mystery, historical-places-events

Another spectacular adventure mixing past, present, and speculation from the formidable imagination of Cussler! Jewels paid to the Bolsheviks for the safety of the royal family, nazis still searching for the Amber Room to raise money for a resurgence of their cause, and lots of secret police and spies. Keeps you reading long into the night.
Scott Brick continues to be excellent as narrative interpretation.

Another great adventure.

Once again Cussler keeps us glued to the story as Sam and Remi take us on another historical adventure. And Scott Brick’s amazing narration bring it alive.

great tale even better narrator

This was a good mix between an action thriller and a mystery. I am a lover of Russian history so this was exciting for me and makes me wonder how much of it is true. They did a great job of blending our known history with a creative narrative. I'll try to check out another Sam and Remy Fargo book.

Great Adventures

I have accidentally joined into the Sam & Remi adventures out of order with no major consequence.
While totally unbelievable, they are so much fun. Enough action and relative history to keep you hanging on, but not so scary to leave you with bad dreams.

My favorite thing... they'll suggest a date night and no matter where they are or what they're doing - each others idea is the most lovely brilliant idea. Made me smile.

A few simple twists

Worth a listen. I enjoyed it the whole way through. Similar formula as previous novels, however some surprising twists.

Don't bother!

These Sam and Remi books are just too predictable. In the past I really enjoyed Clive Cussler books but this series is just boring and tries too hard to be cute.
