Publisher's Summary

It's summer in Memphis. The sweat is sticking to Rudy Baylor's shirt and creditors are nipping at his heels. Once he had aspirations of breezing through law school and punching his ticket to the good life. Now he doesn't have a joy or a prayer...except for one: an insurance dispute that leaves a family devastated and opens the door for a lawsuit, if Rudy can find a way to file it. By the time Rudy gets to court, a heavyweight corporate defense team is there to meet him. And suddenly he's in over his head, plunged into a nightmare of lies and legal maneuverings. A case that started small is exploding into a thunderous million-dollar war of nerves, skill, and outright violence - a fight that could cost one young lawyer his life, or turn him into the biggest rainmaker in the land...

Wow! This audio book is fantastic!

This book was fantastic! Both the story and the reader made it one of my most enjoyable audiobooks. Just when you thought the book was getting predictable, Grisham weaved in a twist that kept you glued to your seat. I especially enjoyed the readers ability to sound out the various characters. My favorite was the defense lawyer Leo Drummon (spelling?). The slow southern way of speaking was classic. A can't say enough good about this book.

Lose the Music

Music drowns out narrator and distracts from the story. I can watch TV for that.

Love the story, but HATE the music!

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I really like this story, but the music gets me irratated to where I stop listening to the book.
I wish that I can turn the crap off...

RainMaker

What made the experience of listening to The Rainmaker the most enjoyable?

What I learned - the ins and outs of insurance scams. Humm, interesting.

Have you listened to any of Michael Beck’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Michael Beck is THE BEST narrator I've listened to since coming to Audible. :)

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Imagining the faces on the insurance personnel.

Any additional comments?

Great book!
