The author and the narrator are made for each other. So well written and so well read. This series is pure delight to listen to!

I really like this series Character development is excellent bLooking forward to the next one. Highly recommend. Great narrator too!

you can't but like DC

DC seems to be getting to the end of the line career wise, he's thinking about retirement, thinking about what his life will be about when he's done being a detective,, he's getting tired of it.

So, fittingly he works a case involving an abbey. He's noticing nature around the abbey. I spent a good amount of time while listening to the book thinking the book cover must have something to do with the plot. To me, its DC's relationships with other people that makes this series special.

One of the best yet

This series just continues to improve. The character development and this is outstanding. Deesees humor and wit is on point. But it’s a good story all the way around. I definitely recommend it. And if this is your first look at the series go back to book one start from the beginning because there are things that you need to know

The entire book was great !

I always enjoy the possibility of DC and the writer becoming a couple.
I always enjoy the debris the characters who appear in each book in the series. Most of all I enjoy DC’s intelligence and renegade yet always correct handling the investigations, always honesty and integrity.

Unique and Entertaining

This series is unlike any other I have read. D.C. Smith is a detective who is probably nearing the end of his career as a police officer. He has the wisdom gained from years of experience, and a sense of humor about it all that keeps him from being cynical and bitter. I've enjoyed every book in this series.

This is a smart "procedural". The pace is steady, there are many interesting characters, and a minimum of violence. There is humor that had me laughing out loud a number of times. What kept me interested was the interaction of the characters.

Gildart Jackson's narration is superb.

There is at least one more book in the series. I look forward to hearing it when it is available.

Such a big fan of this series

I am so impressed with the writing and narration in this series. This author effortlessly manages to create such depth in character development and storyline. I love when a can become genuinely immersed in a story. I appreciate how the author maintains such class throughout his writing, never resorting to gore or cheap sensationalism. Yet, the mysteries and stories are always gripping.

Great read

I love this narrator and the main character is well fleshed out. Always twists and turns, but DC Smith always figures it out in the end!
