Great book! I love the background it provides into the thought processes of the main character & the storyline was fun and interesting. can't wait to go on to the second book!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

This was an enjoyable audiobook largely due to the work of the narrator. The sad truth is I love to listen to audiobooks when I am cleaning or doing other less than interesting chores. Because I am essentially multitasking I want books that are well...simply entertaining. There are novels that I prefer to read rather than listen to. Mark Boyett's interpretation of this book was excellent and made this an enjoyable listen.

Would you recommend The Question of the Missing Head to your friends? Why or why not?

I am not sure I would have been as enthralled with the story if I read it. The characters were for the most part flat and predictable. However, as a story that helps to show life with Aspergers it is a worth read.

Fresh new point of view

I enjoyed this protagonist’s point of view- a pleasant and interesting departure from the standard sleuth!

Wonderful-Delightful

This is not funny, but it is an intriguing murder mystery. The personality trail (Samuel’s name for Asperger’s). The writer did make Samuel funny. His little quirks portray him as unconventional. He has a very structured life down to the minutia. He is very self-aware and explains to the reader how a particular action affects his behavior. He lives at home with his mom. They have a very balanced relationship based on her teaching him how to interpret the world around him. Many times he will explain to the reader, he is aware that his reaction is not the norm because his mother explained the situation before.
The characters are well developed, and I enjoy my introduction to Sam and will read the others.

His business is unique Questions and Answers. People call in with questions, and he provides the answers. When he started the business, he did not intend to solve a murder mystery. This mystery reads like the ones where everyone is in the library, and the detective can identify how everyone has contributed to the mystery. Well, that is this story. I picked out a couple of characters being on the wrong side of right, but I assigned the action to them. The story is slightly like Monk detective story, even though he mentions that their “personality traits” are not similar.

His has an assistant, Ms. Washburn, who gets pulled into his orbit very impulsively. That is the only thing he does by impulsively. They work together well, as a team right off. It is supposed to be a temporary partnership. Sam ruminates about it throughout the book. I cheated and read the synopsis of the other books in the series, and Washburn is not mentioned. I hope that is the author’s way to get you to continue with the series.
This is not a cozy mystery. It is a man with a 160 IQ who has personality quirks who now solve murder mysteries.

Better than I expected

I bought this book simply because it was one of audibles deal of the day & the reviews was really high. I was caught off guard at how entertaining this book was. The narrator was amazing and I will be listening to the next book in this series as well as looking into others by this author.

Head Turning!

Excellent book. The characters are well developed. People can relate to the main character and sympathize with him. A little predictable, but well written and engaging read! I can’t wait to read Book 2.

a combination of Data and Sheldon

listening I often thought of Data who struggled to understand human emotion, and Sheldon Cooper, brilliant but socially challenged.

Another good one

I have read all his books in two other series and truly enjoyed each one. I love the first book of this series and indeed to read them all.
