Publisher's summary

Thomas Bolden grew up on the streets, his childhood a blur of fragmented memories. But now he's managed to put his past behind him, find the woman he wants to share his life with, and carve out a successful career on Wall Street. Until, in the blink of an eye, his world is turned upside down. A bizarre kidnapping sends him fleeing for his life, his face everywhere on the TV news, and a violent, shadowy organization is framing him for crimes he did not commit.

Desperately trying to get back to where he was just a day before, Bolden must re-learn the survival skills of his hardscrabble boyhood. But as Bolden, with just $11 in his pocket and hunters all around him, survives one violent, harrowing hour after another, he makes a series of startling discoveries: about a mysterious woman wanted for murder; about an astounding secret rooted in history, among the country's Founding Fathers and families; about a conspiracy lurking in the darkest corners of corporate America...and a deadly plan that only he can stop. And in the process, maybe Bolden will also find out who he really is.

Furiously paced, filled with brilliantly drawn characters from politicians to patriots, from Wall Street players to battle-hardened cops, The Patriots Club is vintage Reich: brilliant, breathtaking, and impossible to put down until the final unforgettable page is turned.

Had To Listen At 150% speed

I strugglef with this one. I have a lot of free time but this still took 2 weeks to finish. When I made it thru Chaptet 5 I was sure I missed something so I started over. I did not, in fact, miss anything. If I did not pay for this book I would not have finished it. You figure out the climax early and know what the last major scene just not the result.
I will not be re-reading this title very soon. I only would re-read if I have 10 hrs. to kill.
TO THE AUTHOR: Bring back the thrill of NUMBERED ACCOUNT please. This is my 5th book by Christopher Reich.

done before many times

the audible description is somewhat misleading premise is straight forward, evil secret group that runs the government targets the wrong guy and no one believes him, he's on his own fighting for his life, etc.

A bit too much torture details

Excellent story. Dan Brown-esq. Page turner. Skillful narration. Reich's "rules of ..." Trilogy reads like a story written by Dan brown and tom Clancy. Outstanding!

Gets better with time

What did you like best about The Patriots Club? What did you like least?

Good mystery. It starts out slow but does get better.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

More excitement of some kind at the start if the book.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

Good story overall, scary about how much behind closed door things that really happen.

Do you think The Patriots Club needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Nope, can't add on to this with out a forced feeling.

Any additional comments?

The reader was good, to me that is a major part of the enjoyment.....bad or mono tone bores me and I lose interest.

The Club

although i found this book to be entertaining, as i do most books. however, i also found it to be overly predictable; which seems par for the course regarding most books written. all and all i would recommend it

The Patriots Club (Unabridged)

If you like books like The Chairman form Stephen Frey you'll love this book. I love Bourne movies and movies like Spy Game, I used to be in investment banking and to me this book is a great mixture of all three.

Poor Writing with disconnected action

The author certainly has an interesting story line, but does such a poor job with the story that the reader is forced to make up events. At times the plot is connected and developed as when the author builds the main character. However the action sequences are rushed, inexplicable at points and wrapped up in such a simple fashion each time that they are simply not believable. The final 3 hours of the audiobook are painful and frustrating. Too bad, because the potential is there.

Sorry I used a credit

My first review of many audilbles that I have listened, Narrator was bad, story was childish, kept thinking it would turn into something but it never materialized. Just tried to get through it. Perturbed that I purchased it and wasted 14 hours listening to it.

horrible narration

It was hard to follow this story with the horrible monotone of the narrator. I'll never listen to this narrator again.
