Publisher's summary

Turning 27 may be terrifying for some, but for Alex, a struggling artist living in the Midwest, it is cataclysmic. Something about this birthday, his name, and the beautiful woman whose life he has just saved has suddenly made him - and everyone he loves - a target. A target for extreme and uncompromising violence...

Fun Modern Day Fantasy Thriller

Fun book. Its the audiobook version of a page turner. Fun story but not really that original. Lots of action but it gets to be pretty hard to swallow... a artist that basically turns into Rambo overnight. The magic elements were fun but I wish there was a bit more. Finally the ending was a bit flat and cliched after the action ended. The reader was awesome. I am not a fan of this author's fantasy books but this one is an exception because of the modern real world setting. If you need something to make the time pass quick this is it.

I enjoyed it.

What made the experience of listening to The Law of Nines the most enjoyable?

I don't know about the other reviewers that didn't like this one but I did. I would kinda like to see a sequel actually.

Well written

This is so different from his other books but well done. It keeps one wanting to hear more. I disagree with other reviewers that without reading the other series that you get lost. This stands alone. The narration is well done except for the feminine voices which seem to be the same for all of them and not quite feminine. I want to hear more about Alex and Jaxxs.

Absolutely Refreshing

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes This book is for anyone who absolutely loves Terry Goodkind Sword of Truth series. It fills in the gaps after the chainfire series and gives strong roots to a brand new redevelopment of the series! I truly hope that Terry Goodkind realizes this and deeply develops this series more. I will say it is a little slow just because it feels like a lead into something much larger. Perhaps a look into thousands of years after Richard... and a brand new love story.

Nice addition to Sword of Truth

Any additional comments?

Apparently some of the reviewers haven't read all of the Sword of Truth books. If they had, they would know how the path between dimensions was opened. I almost didn't buy this book because of the negative reviews. I'm more than glad I did buy it, though.

I would recommend reading the Sword of Truth books before reading this book. Otherwise, I don't think readers will understand where the story is coming from.

Hurrah for Terry and his effort to enlighten

I am finding this book equally entertaining, though much different from, The Sword of Truth series. He has fashioned a collage between the world of the Confessors and the modern world of today.
Not being a soothsayer nor do I own a crystal ball I am not sure exactly where this series will lead but I do think that it will be as enlightening as the world where Lord Rahl was powerful and Richard became the change of that power.
Well done Terry, I think that Ayn would be happy to see you stretch out your craft.

Outstanding!!!! 10 out of 10 **********

If you have read/listened to the Sword of Truth books then you must buy this one. Telling anything more will give too much away.

My one question is when is Terry's next book coming out :)

An exciting read

I enjoyed this book. The narrator was very good. The story kept getting more and more complicated as it went on; however, some 'endings' were a bit anti-climatic to me, but overall I liked it.

Not his best work, but if you like Goodkind it's great

An outlier in the sword of truth novels and written before the conclusion of the omen machine story arc this is out of place if read after the other books in the sword of truth world. However it provides enough fresh material and unique characters to drive a strong story of its own.
