Publisher's summary

What do you do when somebody targets one of your own?

Alone on the couch one night, Reed and his partner are both summoned to the hospital to find two of their colleagues have been viciously attacked, left for dead on the side of the road with very little evidence to go on.

With emotions high and the entire department vowing revenge, Captain Grimes assigns the case to Reed and Billie, offering them any resources available in finding the culprit. What at first seemed just an isolated incident soon begins to spiral as more bodies are found, strewn across the greater Columbus area from Grove City to New Albany.

Each victim appears to be somehow linked to the law enforcement community, though how or why they have been chosen continues to elude Reed as he is joined on the case by Cassidy Glenn from the state's Bureau of Criminal Investigation. Together, they work their way from one scene to the next, piecing together what seems to be driving this perpetrator in their vendetta, hoping to bring things together enough to get out ahead of them before anybody else falls victim.

Excellent

Superb writing with plenty of interesting plot twists. Stevens makes the characters come alive on the pages. I was really impressed with how the clues and process of solving the case was laid out and worked on by the team of different agencies. As always Reed and Billie are at the top of their game and a joy 😂 to follow!!!!

The author has written another great novel!

The author Dustin Stevens has written another great novel with plenty of intrigue and suspense! The narration is superb bringing the characters to life. The pause at the end of each chapter is a bit too long though.

Great Storyline

Being a complete sucker for a good K9 story, I just can't seem to stay away from this series. It's a good series, with strong storylines. The characters are good, too. But this is the third book in the series and I'm still working out how I feel about these characters. The dog? Love her. Reed? He's got a lot of great qualities, and I love the way he treats Billie, demanding respect for her as if she were a human detective. But he still feels a bit like a locked room to me. I don't feel, after three books, like I have any idea who this man is and how he thinks.

Aside from my personal problem that the author has chosen to keep our hero's personality a more closely guarded secret than those famous 11 herbs and spices, I really enjoy these stories. I love the strong morals Reed chooses to live by and love his determination and dedication not only to the job but to his partner, Billie, as well. They're both strong, smart, and driven to overachieve. I'm looking forward to the author giving us more insight into the enigmatic Detective Reed.

This series is great

The stories just get better. Good police work and I adore the dog. Love to see a picture of Billy. We enjoy Scott Smith’s narration as well

A good story

Another good story around Reed & Billie. However, Scott R Smith needs to learn the difference between the word misshapen — pronounced mis-shapen and the non-word miss-happen. I can understand mispronouncing rarely used or foreign words, but really.

Good Plot & Series

When there own is shot at, they take it personally. Two men close to retirement was there a reason. Good plot of how Billie and Reed with help of an investigator go after the shooter. Good series to enjoy.
Given audio also with good narration to enjoy for my voluntary review and my honest opinion
