Editorial reviews

Master of occult mystery Sax Rohmer delivers frenetic action, electrifying suspense and a heart-pounding climax in this noir-esque period piece. Performer John Bolen’s suave baritone brims with debonair intrigue as he follows an international detective duo on the trail of a cloaked killer known as the Golden Scorpion. Bolen demonstrates his talent for accents and roleplaying as he personifies Rohmer’s exotic cast, including stealthy French detective Gaston Max, stoic Scotland Yard investigator Koeppel Stuart, and his sultry but deceptive love interest, her true identity shrouded behind countless aliases. Rohmer’s medley of adventure, suspense, exoticism, and the supernatural suggest what one might well expect of a Sherlock Holmes mystery told by Edgar Allan Poe.

most entertaining during the daily commute

The story was strange but entertaining. The end left a few people trapped in China - did I miss something - anyone out there can help me with the missing scientists still working for the scorpion? But there was love, sacrifice, deception, opium, international police - very nicely done.
