Publisher's Summary

The stunning third and final novel in Stieg Larsson’s internationally best-selling trilogy.

Lisbeth Salander—the heart of Larsson’s two previous novels—lies in critical condition, a bullet wound to her head, in the intensive care unit of a Swedish city hospital. She’s fighting for her life in more ways than one: if and when she recovers, she’ll be taken back to Stockholm to stand trial for three murders. With the help of her friend, journalist Mikael Blomkvist, she will not only have to prove her innocence, but also identify and denounce those in authority who have allowed the vulnerable, like herself, to suffer abuse and violence. And, on her own, she will plot revenge—against the man who tried to kill her, and the corrupt government institutions that very nearly destroyed her life.

Once upon a time, she was a victim. Now Salander is fighting back.

"Salander is In Trouble But Blomkvist Saves The Day"

I read this book in paper in 2012 and loved it. October 2017, This is the 3rd book in the original trilogy by Larssen. I listened to it again on audible with Simon Vance narrating and loved it even more. I now have the next two written by Lagercrantz. The death of Larssen was tragic. To have as accomplished an author as Lagercrantz step in and be able to write the stories almost in the same voice is amazing. No movies of the recent two but that's no surprise. The actors in the first three books became the characters so it would be hard for anyone else to step in. But, I encourage anyone who likes suspenseful stories told with lots of twists and turns to read/listen to all of these books. I am on my second listen and have watched the films several times. I have Book 5. Dark and addictive.

"Best in the series--quickly read the first two to get here!"

This third installment of Stieg Larsson's trilogy is so complex and gripping, it was my favourite of them all, even as I listened to all three novels back-to-back over the last two weeks. Definitely rivals the best legal thrillers and courtroom dramas.

I was wondering how this series would end. The author did a great job of pulling it all together.

    "Stieg Larson is a genius!"

The last of Stieg Larson's work featuring some of my favorite characters, Elizabeth Salander and Mikael Blomkvist. The third installment of the "Millenium" series feels to center more on the investigation of what occurred in the previous two books. Simon Vance did a wonderful job narrating the book, keeping me in suspense. If you love a good suspenseful thriller, you will love this book!
