Publisher's Summary

From New York Times best seller Alessandra Torre....

I have three months to write the last book of my life. Three months to confess the details of that day, and how it changed everything for me.

My name is Helena Ross. I've written 15 romance novels, 10 of which have become international best sellers. But this one isn't a romance, no happily ever after in place. This novel holds only the truth, which I have run away from for four years. The truth, which I have hidden from the police, from my loved ones, from the world.

This final book?

It's my confession.

Ugly cry good

This audio ripped my heart out and left it on the floor. I’ve never listened to an audio that had me so emotional. This Audio kept me engaged from beginning to end. The way the author navigated the story while hinting, twisted, and eventually pulling out a trump card I would have never seen coming was beautiful, poetic, and heartbreaking. The narrator did such a fabulous job of giving all the characters so much personality from fragile and broken, to strong and supportive. Bravo. A five star Audio all the way around.

Great story. Bad recording and narration.

Loved this story! ...but the recording was awful and the narration was quite annoying at times.

Narrator ruins this book!

Got half way through chapter 13 before completely giving up on this book. Terrible narrator, completely bland and emotionless voice. Horrible editing, you can tell where they clipped in sections because some words overlap. It was a painful experience to listen to or care about the characters and story. It’s possible this could be a good story but I’ll never know now.

Painfully bad narration.

The narration of this book moved between an automated Siri type voice, southern drawls, and a strong NY accent. The worst part about audiobooks is the switching back and forth between voices and this book was an awful example of that. I couldn’t connect with Helena or the story because of the narration.

Terrible narration

I liked the story but the narration was terrible and editing evident. Not sure I’d listen to her again.

Best book since Gone Girl

You will not regret listening to this book. Although different, it’s every bit as memorable as Gone Girl. The characters are fully brought to life and by the end, I experienced true emotional involvement; even tears. I listen to at least six narrated books a month and this novel and Gone Girl are my two absolute favorites. It’s not a “happily ever after” story but I felt satisfied and at peace with the ending; touched by a story that I will most likely always remember.

Overall great book

The beginning was a little slow, but overall I really loved this book. The narrator sounded like Siri sometimes and you could tell that pieces have been added in afterwards.

Slow burn psychological thriller

Different from Alessandra's normal books but once it got going it was a great story. The narrator did an excellent job with the read , it has mystery , thrill and sadness but overall audio/ book .

Great story

I truly enjoyed this book. It was captivating and, although it wasn't a nail-biting thriller the entire way through, it definitely had some twists and turns that weren't easy to see coming. This book was suspenseful, sad, witty, and heartfelt. There were times when the narrator sounded somewhat robotic, but it was hardly noticeable and didn't take away from the story. Overall, it was a great listen and I would definitely recommend it.

Great read

I don't give 5 stars very often, but I really did love this book. It wasn't fast paced, but really had a great story. I will definately be reading more from this author.
