Good Book, terrible narrator doing the voice!

What disappointed you about The First Prophet?

I haven't read the entire book, in fact I couldn't even get past the first chapter because the narrator's voice is so annoying. I can't stand it when a female narrator attempts to do a male voice. It would have been much better with a male and female narrating this book. I was looking forward to this because I'm an avid Noah Bishop fan, however, I'm going to have to buy the e-book to get through the entire story.

In the future I'll make sure to stay away from any audiobook with this narrator.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

The story doesn't need to be changed, good book so far, however, two different narrator's; one male and one female would have been more enjoyable.

What didn’t you like about Joyce Bean’s performance?

Her voice is annoying; especially when she attempts to do a male voice.

What character would you cut from The First Prophet?

None.

good book narration was not so good

I enjoyed the book. Not one of the best of hers. The narrator was female and her attempt to change her voice to a male's was laughable. It would have been more enjoyable if she had not tried.

Move along. This one is a real disappointment.

Oh, brother. I forced myself to wait 'til the end of this book to write a review. I kept hoping it would get better and it never did. I have read or listened to many of Kay Hooper's books and have enjoyed them all. This one was ridiculous and I think the narrator made it worse. I don't want to just beat up on the narrator or the story, but I would highly recommend you go find one of Hooper's early books/series and listen to that one. And definitely make sure they are narrated by someone else. If there are more in this series (since Hooper tends to write in groups), I won't buy them, that is for sure.

Great book. Bad narrative

Book seems to skip a lot . I am having a hard time with the narrator . I don’t really like how she changes her voice between a man and a women .

Great mystery with paranormal

I enjoyed the plot. Ms. Hooper writes so naturally that it seems normal that most of us would have paranormal gifts. My one issue with the story is that the heroine seems a bit too frightened and naive, over and over again. I don't have to have a strong female lead, but I do believe the shrinking violet is a touch overdone.
I'm not sure if either character will have repeating roles in this series, but I hope so.
Ms. Hooper doesn't disappoint because all of the paranormal books of hers which I've read, have been very easy to suspend belief. Her books also have a bit of romantic tension, but it isn't a huge part of the plot. I believe you will be fully satisfied with the series.
