Publisher's Summary

Amos Decker, David Baldacci's unique special agent with the gift of a remarkable memory, returns in The Fallen

Small towns which have seen better times are not unusual. But the mysterious events in Baronville, Pennsylvania, are raising the highly tuned antennae of Agent Amos Decker and his FBI partner, Alex Jamison. What was supposed to be a relaxing vacation turns into a murder investigation when two bodies are found in a nearby deserted house.

With the body count rising, Decker and Jamison dig deep to uncover a sinister truth in Baronville, which could be the canary in the coalmine for the rest of the country.

But even the duo's skills and Amos Decker's infallible memory may not be enough to save this town, or them, from becoming the next victims.

Yet again brilliant read

Thoroughly enjoyed this series so far. Such and in depth and precise details leave you constantly amazed by the character. The story line constantly throwing curve balls that kept me always yearning for each new chapter. All in all exceptional!

Giving up on Baldacci

I've listened to quite a few of Baldacci's different protagonists and to be honest I'm fed up of the formula .. The main body of the stories are all efficient enough (although I'm never completely convinced by the logical progressions) - but it's the overly dramatic and unconvincing endings that constantly let them down, always involving an avalanche of exposition resembling the ending of an episode of Scooby Doo .. So with his determination to 'tell' as opposed to 'show' I think I'll be giving Mr Baldacci a miss from now on.

Loved it

My most favorite character is Amos Decker so no matter how the story is I was gonna be all fan bombing over this story. If complications considered and compared to other Amos Decker books.. this one was very subtle, easy and guessable. No new characters were introduced which would change the story narration and will become centre of focus. Amos was until the very last minute was at the throne. Story wasn't that great but I don't think I hate it or anything. Just that it could've been better... way better.

As always, an excellent book from David Baldacco

The Decker and Jamison books are amongst my favourites and made even better by the excellent narrators. Those reading the book for us, can make or break it - Kyf Brewer and Orlagh Cassidy are amongst the best. Yes excellent book from start to finish

Memory Man Meticulously Unravels Mysteries

Love Decker; Jamieson's character disappointingly flat, difficult to follow female narrations; only three voice types.

Pretty interesting

Whilst this story was ok, I did find it a bit unrealistic with too many “bits of luck” & coincidence to be plausible.
I’m not a fan of multiple narrators & found some of the accents quite annoying.

The usual

Our hero once again pieces it all together correctly and with all clues given if you look hard enough.
