Publisher's summary

The rescue on Duran Island did not go as planned.

Jonathan Quinn knows that someone is responsible. That someone decided throwing people Quinn cares about into the line of fire in a cold-hearted act of self-preservation was a good idea. He also knows that this someone has made a serious mistake. Because when Quinn gets mad, the last place anyone should ever be is in his crosshairs. He will not stop until the guilty pay.

Sometimes revenge is best served now.

We can understand why he was a bit angry!

Now we know why Peter was the head of The Office--he planned for everything and was usually several steps ahead of everyone! This book takes us on the trail of who killed Peter and tried to kill all the others who had been imprisoned on that island. Peter has left a trail of bread crumbs that Quinn and his gang need to follow and figure out without getting killed first!

It's a little hard to swallow that Quinn's sister is slowly slipping into the cleaning group, but nice to have Deng around too.

This is an enjoyable series, despite the fact that Quinn and his ilk are amoral, just doing jobs without any concern for who the victims are. Anyway, this book has more action than a cleaner should have to engage in. Very exciting!

Outstanding performance and Author

My reviews are short and to the point. This is the best book in the series so far. All have been good, but this one has spread the surprises even more. Quinn is human after all.I of course look forward with anticipation to listening to the next book.

Really should be 4-1/2 stars

As I have commented before, I love seeing the bad guys "get theirs". I have listened to this entire series one book after another and was disappointed that I now have to wait a couple of weeks for the next one. Very exciting action stories.

Awesome series..

Jeez! I just love Quinn! And this was kind of a cliffhanger from book 6. It was so good. All about Nate, Lanier, Berkeley and Curson’s time of getting revenge for being tortured in the last book. AND what happened to Orlando.

No sex and the F-bomb was only used 2 times.

As to the narration: I always love Scott Brick.

Quinn books just keep getting better and better.

Book 7 picks up where Book 6 left us with a bit of a cliffhanger. The team begins picking up the pieces and then turn their collective attentions to finding out the how and why of the kidnappings and tortures...along with a final request of a lost friend. Again, this is a page'Turner and a pleasurable read.

Loved Reading The Enraged.....Wonderful

Would you consider the audio edition of The Enraged to be better than the print version?

Absolutely. Hearing all the action and thrills made listening very exciting. I was anxious, leaning forward in my chair waiting to hear what was going to happen next.

What did you like best about this story?

I enjoyed the action and thrills throughout the book. The revenge Quinn had to employ to justify the actions that severely injured Orlando, the most important person in his life, had to be flown to hospital asap because her injuries were so severe that she needed immediate care in order to save her life, if possible. She had went on the mission to rescue men who were part of Quinn's team and Peter, who once had been the man who provided him with most of his work as a Cleaner. The cleaner would come in after a murder or murders had been committed and make sure there was no evidence left behind and dispose of the bodies in such ways they would never be found. While his men had been held as prisoners, they had been repeatedly tortured physically, mentally and were starving because of the meager amounts of food that they were fed. Quinn had no choice but to retaliate. How Quinn was able to exact the revenge required help from others. The plans were made and put into a nonstop execution of action. Hold on tight because the excitement will give the listener whip lash.

Have you listened to any of Scott Brick’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I've listened to many books narrated by Scott Brick. His performances can't be compared to his other narrations because I have found them all to be great. His narration of a book conforms to the kind of novel he is narrating. He's able to keep the character's recognizable and use his voice to inflect the emotion being portrayed. His skill has made him one of the best narrators I have listened to.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No extreme reactions to this book. I did not laugh or cry.

Any additional comments?

I read The Enraged all in one sitting. The novel went so fast that, before I knew it, the book was over. Brett Battle's series of Johnathan Quinn are great listens. The books keep me on the edge of seat. I hope that the next book in the series will come out soon.

I always enjoy this series!

STORY (detective) - In this story Quinn (who is normally a "cleaner" for government ops) is involved personally with the case. People he loves and cares about are killed and injured, and he has to figure out who and why and make things right. The detective work is interesting and I found the book thoroughly enjoyable.

PERFORMANCE - I always love Scott Brick, and he delivers again with The Enraged.

OVERALL (actual rating 4.5) - Recommended for men and women of all ages. Be prepared for a fast-moving story with action, violence and a little bit of cursing. I've been skipping around in this series (Book 5, then 4.1 and now this Book 7). Each book stands alone, but I do feel like I'm missing some good character/relationship development by not going in order. I'd recommend starting with Book 4.1, which as far as I can tell should be Book 1 because it explains how Jake the cop turns into Quinn the cleaner.
