Yes, it was "unputdownable."

Wonderful story experienced by the characters, some of whom you liked and others not. Unexpected outcome.

Standard mystery

Here is story of a yet another woman who may or may not be mad - with a husband who may or may not be a cad, with friends who kind of suck, and neighbors who may or may not be babynappers and/or murderers. Stories like this pass the time, but don't expect them to change your life.

Disappointing finale😩

Had so much potential and points where the story gripped me,but the main character frustrated me at times. The ending was plausible but disappointing after so many twists and turns. And then, the epilogue that leaves you with your jaw dropped and needing closure🙄

Boring

What disappointed you about The Child Next Door: An unputdownable psychological thriller with a brilliant twist?

There didn't seem to be any suspense and it just dragged on.

What could Shalini Boland have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Not make her character so pathetic and whiny.

Which character – as performed by Katie Villa – was your favorite?

I really didn't have a favorite. I couldn't warm up to any of the characters.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

The narrator was good.

“Unputdownable” - not exactly

The awful “unputdownable” claim isn’t exactly a word or accurate. If you make it through the first 2/3 of droning, daily obsessive mommy chores with a judgemental main character, the end 1/3 of the book is good.

No action till the end

The storyline was so mundane. Nothing happened until chapter 40. The first 40 chapters were just a log of the daily minutia of an overly paranoid new mother.

Great book

Despite it being quite repetitive due the nature of the subject and that the book is written from one characters point of view, it's still a great listen. The story is predictable but doesn't detract from the enjoyment.
The ending was a bit odd for me and it could've gone into a little more detail. Maybe paving the way for another book?

Boring story no real twist

I was disappointed by this book it never really went anywhere. There was no real twist and it was all pretty predictable. The best bit was the last minute and it made me chuckle. Shame a bit more of the end had not been brought into the book earlier on.
