Publisher's summary

FBI Special agent Brad Raines is facing his toughest case yet. A Denver serial killer has killed four beautiful young women, leaving a bridal veil at each crime scene, and he's picking up his pace. Unable to crack the case, Raines appeals for help from a most unusual source: Residents of the Center for Wellness and Intelligence, a private psychiatric institution for mentally ill individuals whose are extraordinarily gifted.

It's there that he meets Paradise, a young woman who witnessed her father murder her family and barely escaped his hand. Diagnosed with schizophrenia, Paradise may also have an extrasensory gift: The ability to experience the final moments of a person's life when she touches the dead body.

In a desperate attempt to find the killer, Raines enlists Paradise's help. In an effort to win her trust, he befriends this strange young woman and begins to see in her qualities that most "sane people" sorely lack. Gradually, he starts to question whether sanity resides outside the hospital walls...or inside.

As the Bride Collector picks up the pace-and volume-of his gruesome crucifixions, the case becomes even more personal to Raines when his friend and colleague, a beautiful young forensic psychologist, becomes the Bride Collector's next target. The FBI believes that the killer plans to murder seven women. Can Paradise help before it's too late?

Phenomenal!!

Truly terrifying and gripping all the way through. Couldn't stop listening until the end. Wonderful character development, and a story line right out of the pages of life. Great book!!!

The Bride Collector

This is a great book. It was my first Dekker and will browse for more. He is a great story teller and a wonderful builder of characters. Narration is so important and Glover does it right! Highly recommend.

Very Interesting

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

I must admit that this started out a bit slow but got very exciting. The characters are great.

Have you listened to any of John Glover’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I haven't but I wasn't thrilled with his performance. It took a bit to get accustomed to his style.

As usual when it comes to Ted Dekker’s books I was riveted! The story never slows down and it immensely enjoyable.

overall good story. enjoyed the reader's acting sk

I typically enjoy most anything Ted Dekker does. John Glover really did a good job narrating it. I'm not a huge fan of how much attention the villain got in this story. it felt like it was glorifying psychotic murder. that just didn't settle well with me. but the characters and the plot overall, pretty solid work.

Loved it!

I've listened to a number of Dekker's books and loved this as much, if not more, than the others. I especially appreciated how the combination of a serial killer, mental illness, and a girl that doesn't shower so thoroughly demonstrated how much God loves us.

Fascinated by mental illness

I wish to meet these characters. All except Mr. Gauld. Another cringeworthy lovable story. Thank you Mr. Dekker. You are one of my favorites....

Great thriller and great villain

I read one of Ted Dekker’s books and I really enjoyed his stories. So I picked up the next one I could find. The Bride Collector is a really good book. However, books can be good but I think whoever reads the book on Audible will either make or break whether or not you thoroughly enjoy the book. John Glover does a great job with the numerous character that he has to portray in the book. Great job all around. The thing I have come to expect is the interview with Ted at the end of his books. Like, “What made you think of this story?” Keep up the great work. I cannot believe you have written 70 books!!!
