Publisher's summary

After their thrilling exploits in Matthew Reilly's rampaging New York Times best-seller, 7 Deadly Wonders, supersoldier Jack West Jr. and his loyal team of adventurers are back, and now they face an all-but-impossible challenge.

A mysterious ceremony in an unknown location has triggered a catastrophic countdown that will climax in no less than the end of all life on Earth. But Jack and his team might be able to ward off the coming Armageddon if they can find the fabled Six Sacred Stones, which hold clues to a legendary ancient device long lost in the fog of history. As the hunt begins, Jack and his team discover that they are not the only ones seeking the Stones...and that there might just be other players out there who don't want to see the world saved at all.

From Stonehenge in England to the deserts of Egypt to the spectacular Three Gorges region in China, The 6 Sacred Stones will take you on a nonstop rollercoaster ride through ancient history, modern military hardware, and some of the fastest and most mind-blowing action you will ever hear.

Cut off!

The story is amazing. The voices are a bit much though- uses like a Russian accent for Arabs lol. none of that is terrible though. it's fun that he does it. the HUGE problem I have is the first and part of second of every like 10 sentences is straight cut off. almost like it was edited for time and they didn't care that they left out the beginning of sentences. I'm about half thru chapter 2 and it's so very annoying that it's edited like this I will be requesting a refund and buying the book paper copy since I have read it before and don't like that it's ruined in this manner. Matthew Reilly is amazing though. Graham is a good reader but maybe a little too much emphasis. his voice for the little girl sounds deeper than the main character Jack 😂 all in all very good book but stop cutting corners on time and making it shorter by cutting off the readers first few words.

Gunslinger ending

I was upset to find out we will only learn of the 2 sacred stones....very disappointing to hear this is only a third of the book. Also don't know why it was abbridged...it was short as is.

Too Unbelievable!

I tried to get into the book after reading its former work The 7 Ancient Wonders, but this was a little unbelievable for me. I know it is fictional, but the characters seemed too much like super beings instead of regular human beings in an extraordinary experience. Now I am reading the 5 Greatest Warriors. Hopefully this is a litlle more credible.

To be continued...

While I enjoyed the book I was upset to find out it was a cliff-hanger. I think we should be informed if a book is part of a collection.

love the book, not the narration

I have read this book a couple of time and I absolutely love it! love the adventure, the history, the conspiracy. Having read the book before i found that a lot of it was missing. important parts that help the story move forward and explain things to come in books to follow in the series. so even though i gave 5 stars to the title and story i would give 0 stars to the editing of this story - I didn't see the need to abridge the story to save 30 min maybe of narration? totally not worth it.

Needs a label

Even though I love this series, this version only gets 3 stars as it is an abridged version. It is not labeled that it is abridged either. I have read the book and as I was listening to it I realised parts were cut out. The unabridged version is much better.

I wish it was unabridged.

Good story with great narration but would have been better if they had the unabridged version.

BEWARE, #1 in a series ending in a cliffhanger

First, I must admit that I am a huge Reilly fan. His books are my guilty pleasures of action and military fantasy and I have read his entire collection. This was my first attempt to listen to one of his books. The narrator was great, but the story's plot was rushed. I'm glad I listened to the abridged version and didn't waste my time reading the unfinished novel. I have one thing to say: The mag-hook is for Scarecrow.
This was the worst of Reilly's books.

wasn't expecting much..

...And it delivered. This is a classic Matthew Reilly style book - Indiana Jones-ish... must suspend disbelief in order to "enjoy". Yes, written for a middle-school gamester boy. I am neither but I just wanted something to listen to in the car and at the gym. It was Fine for that. Nothing heavy. I really liked the voice of the narrator - he did a good job with the material. Completely fluffy, but sometimes you buy junkfood for the brain. Thats OK as long as you weren't expecting haute cuisine or Proust. I was rather disappointed that it was only 1/3 of a book though. I mean, although I can pretty much probably write the rest of the plot at this point myself....it would be nice to have closure.
