Publisher's summary

Syd, a breathtakingly beautiful supermodel on a photo shoot in Hawaii, disappears. Fearing the worst, her parents travel to Hawaii to investigate for themselves, never expecting the horror that awaits them.

LA Times reporter Ben Hawkins is conducting his own research into the case, hoping to help the victim and get an idea for his next bestseller. With no leads and no closer to uncovering the kidnapper's identity than when he stepped off the plane, Ben gets a shocking visit that pushes him into an impossible-to-resist deal with the devil.

A heart-pounding story of fear and desire, Swimsuit transports listeners to a chilling new territory where the collision of beauty and murder transforms paradise into a hell of unspeakable horrors.

Another Disappointing Collaboration

I really like James Patterson's books, but since he has been co-authoring these stories, I cannot remember one that I've really liked.
This one is not believable. The characters are stupid, shallow and not interesting, even the "evil killer" is bland. It is all very predictable and for me really, sorry to say, a waste of a credit.

DISAPPOINTING AND DISGUSTING!

This is one of the worst books I have ever listened to from Audible. I enjoy murder mysteries and listen to them regularly. This one crosses the line into some kind of sick voyeuristic perversion. This book contains vivid descriptions on the rape, torture and murder of women. This book focuses on the exploitation of women more than solving the crime. My husband was horrified by what he heard. We asked for a refund the book was so bad. I have been a Platinum member for 6 or 7 years and have NEVER requested a refund until now. This book is awful.

A gut wrenching thriller

This is one of his best pieces of work thus far! All new characters, villains and victims. A brilliant ending that leaves you wanting more. The narrator, Christian Rummel, is excellent! This is a must read if you're a James Patterson fan.

Swimsuit

I bought it because I like the author and usually enjoy what he writes. For me, this was just too sick, graphic and sad.

Violent terror and torture..too realistic

This storyline will cause nightmares. It should come with a warning label. I am a huge Patterson fan..love the Cross series and Women's Murder Club. Some collaborations are ok. This story however saddens me to think that there may be some disturbed individuals in our world such as the main characters. It also makes one wonder what reasonable person would write such horror. This one is a bit too graphic for me.

Suspenseful

I've been looking for new authors to try, and thought this book sounded interesting, since I like to read horror. The publisher's description is not very accurate (it didn't even get the victim's name right), and the book turned out to be better than I expected. Be aware that it does contain graphic violence and explicit sex - often combined.

Enjoyable

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, as I do most of James Patterson's books. The only thing that drove me nuts was the narrator doing women's voices. He made them all sound like transvestites.

Buy as last resort

Wasn't a total disappointment, but sorry I spent money to buy it instead of waiting until it was $5 or so. Good story, but I was expecting a much, much better Patterson novel.

My first James Patterson read

Creepy and fascinating. It was like a horror movie except you get to really know the murderer and that's good in my opinion, it's not just mindless killings by a guy in a mask who never speaks. (Jason and Michael Myers really piss me off) This guy is twisted and loves what he does. Not my usual read but it was a bit addicting. Narrator did a good job and it had a satisfactory ending. Only 3 stars because I can't say I absolutely loved it. BTW the girl's name is KIM not SYD.
